stranger in town
Review of High Plains Drifter DVD by nebcsa17th

Advantages: Good plot
Disadvantages: none

As a big Clint Eastwood fan i find that most people normally relate to him for his "Spaghetti westerns" or "Dirty Harry" films. I have lost count of the amount of times i have heard someone with a bad impression of him sayin "go ahed punk make my day" Eastwood though has many films to his credit both as actor and as director, quite often as both. "High plains drifter" (1973) is one of thoes many films. With his spaghetti westerns most people credit ...
...in in all three films he had a name. In "A fist full of dollars" his name was Joe, in "For a few dollars more" his name was Monco and finally in "The good the bad and the ugly" he was Blondie. For five decades Eastwood has made westerns, appealing to the current audience, but in only one was he the man with no name or the stranger and that was "High plaines Drifter" although the film does leave heavy clues to who he could have been once upon a time. ... For a night of epic gun-slinging
Review of The Good, The Bad And The Ugly/Hang 'Em High DVD by ayreweth

Advantages: Two brilliant films in on set, for a reasonable price
Disadvantages: The hours you'll find devoting to learing lines and catchphrases

...The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a film full of well known lines and scene that keeps you on the edge of your seat, followed up by Hang 'em High and you can't go wrong. The most attractive thing about this set for me was the fact that each film is on a seperate disc. For some reason it double sided disks irritate me, and when it comes to such epic films as these, i feel that each deserved their own disc. When watching theses great films you wont ...
...your own hat, cheering for the bad and better guys. This is Clint in his well known form of tough hero, who everyone loves, despite the times where you think he'll do the wrong thing, and even when he does you can't help but cheer him on in all his squinty glory! ... Read review

Clint eastwood's unforgiven is a good mordern western that you want to watch on a sunday afternoon when i'ts poring with rain. It's an exciting classic that won four 1992 academy awards including best picture and best director. This movie captures the atmosphere of the old classic's .duels, showdowns before sun up,winchester rifles, mules, hookers and sheriffs. It does this superbly with an amazing cast. Eastwood and morgan freeman play retired,down-on-their-luck ...

Best western ever
Review of Unforgiven (Special Edition) by michael1975

Advantages: The best western ever
Disadvantages: Alittle slow in places

Without doubt I can say this is the best western I have ever seen, Not only does it paint what I would think is a accurate portrail of life in the west but it is also done in beautiful and sometimes thought provoking way. Clint eastwood not only stars but directs and what a job he does in both roles. He paints a picture of a aging gunslinger who needs money to bring up his two kids. Wondering if he has what it takes at his age and without the help ... Read review
