Plenty of people I know who have watched the film disagree with me that it is one of the best western films made.I totally disagree this film sequels a fist full of dollars,of which is also one of the best around of its time. The sequel has been branded unneccesary and downgrades the 1st film but if the film had not been produced the first would not of had the same affect as it did. Advantages: Clint Eastwood fitting his character wonderfully.
Disadvantages: Not much in the way of surprises in the plot.

Pale Rider is rather a western that should still appeal to lovers of the aforementioned films, but also those who prefer a more obvious plot and their idea of action and drama aren't tense stand-offs before a gunfight. It is definitely one of the best movies, I have ever seen. With the american civil war as the background, three bounty killers set out to take into their possession, a large sum of money which was buried in a grave by a dead soldier.
