Advantages: Plenty of useful sentences and phrases on a variety of topics
Disadvantages: It doesn't take advantage of the possibilities of the medium of DVD

As a French tutor, I was interested in seeing whether this DVD would prove to be a useful alternative to the various textbook/CD language packs that are available. I can see that a student of French would find plenty of useful sentences and phrases that can be learned while relaxing on the sofa in front of the TV (as opposed to having to sit in front of a computer screen with a CD-rom perhaps). I was, however, disappointed that the product does not ...
...the only illustrations were still photographs introducing each different topic. Basically, you see a sentence in English (in white on a black background) which is read out by a native English speaker. The equivalent sentence appears below it in French, and this is then read out twice by a native French speaker. Advantages: Works you really hard, makes you sweat. Is excellent.
Disadvantages: Music. Amercian style encouragement!

David Kirsch himself can be a little annoying and sometimes you want to scream that, just because I am putting my mind in my glutes (I kind you not), I is not making it hurt any less! The people in the background are also a little scary and they do not seem to stop smiling and never sweat-scary! The music is also pointless. Advantages: Shows you the correct form for weight training, only 45 mins long
Disadvantages: Music, Kirsch himself, better for someone new to exercise.

I am a big David Kirsch fan and own three of his DVDs. Initially I bought the Ultimate New York Body Plan and his Ultimate Bootcamp and both of these were extremely advanced weight training/cardio workouts that had me aching the next day. I decided to buy Kirsch's Upper Body DVD as I assumed that this would be as advanced. I was wrong. This workout is much more for someone new to exercise and, one of its advantages is how much detail Kitsch goes ...
...repeated very much and, unless you were quite unfit, you fail to get a very intense workout at all. The DVD is divided into three 15 min sections-Upper body (arms, back, shoulders etc), Abs and chest and then a more advanced 15 min section with all upper body and abs. Advantages: Challenges not spilt like no. 1
Disadvantages: You may remember what happens from the series!

If you are an avid Top Gear fan then you will enjoy this. However if you have seen most of series then you as you start watching each challenge the likelihood is that you will start to recall what happens. The Bugatti race against the Eurofighter is a brilliant piece of tv & the return of the amphibious cars is certainly funny as is the trip to France. Another good one is the search for the best driving road.... I would love to out them to the test! ... Read review
