Alien Abduction? whish I had been.
Review of Alien Abduction DVD by
dreamscancometrue
Advantages: better than Eastenders
Disadvantages: worse than Coronation street.
Alien Abduction.
To be honest I found this quite a difficult film to understand, and by the time I got the jest of what was happening, I had become bored.
I'm usually a big fan of anything like this, but this film was done possibly to clever for its own good, It was quite confusing, who was who? What was what? And where were they all sounds good on paper, but it was so confusing I think they confused themselves and it killed the film. I don't think ... ...writers thoughts of how, an alien abduction would be like, and an attempt at a possible reason and answer as to why.
The film itself, is about 4 adult friends on a camping trip, leading character Jean, thinks she has spotted something, whilst walking around the site with her camcorder, after originally disbelieving her, she and her friends are thrown into a panic as a creature appears from the woods,
The following scene is somewhat similar to the ...

Battle Weary
Review of Battlefield Earth DVD by
ThePolarOne
Advantages: basic premise is okay
Disadvantages: bad acting, too long and dull
77. Battlefield Earth (2000)
With the upcoming third worldwide protest against the cult of scientology's abuses this weekend, it seems timely to review Battlefield Earth. Adapted from a novel by L Ron Hubbard, and championed by actor John Travolta for over a decade. It rapidly gained the infamous status of one of the most expensive flops in cinema history, and you need only look at my rating to see whether I agree. This film should carry a public ... ...No. And neither should you. Battlefield Earth is full of holes, it's overblown, too long, too camp, and Barry Pepper is an especially uncharasmatic lead actor. It's a B-movie that somehow walked off the lot with an A-movie budget, and Hollywood has been churning out much better films for a tenth of the cost. The few superficial achievements can't outweigh the mess of a script and over the top direction and editing. Between the bad guys chuckling ...

Doom and Gloom
Review of Doom DVD by
sjp1966
Advantages: Sound/Audio, Special Effects
Disadvantages: cop out from the game, not enough monsters, story, unoriginal
...Back in the early 90's Doom was at the forefront of the gaming world. With much better graphics and game play (including network play) than most other games. Players could immerse themselves in the world of a Marine fighting demon's from Hell, on Mars. Then in late 2004 we had some more of the same with Doom3, only with bigger better graphics and a more refined storyline (even if the game was a bit linear).
Amongst gamers, the idea that there would ... ...story of the game (particularly Doom 3) was fairly simple. You are on a tour of duty at the UAC facilities on Mars, when they access a portal to hell and let all sorts of demons out, and you basically run around killing any demon that moves before descending into Hell to have a go at the boss himself. This was the kind of story I would have liked seen to port over to the film. Dark dingy corridors, masses of monsters and demons coming at you before ...

Fantastically lags story wise
Review of Fantastic Four DVD by
IzzyS
Advantages: Some good special effects and CGI
Disadvantages: Too slow, not enough of a story, lost interest before the end
...was one that featured a Fantastic 4 cartoon, so I was somewhat familiar with the characters and I do like a good fantasy type movie every now and then, so I thought I'd give this a watch. I'm glad I didn't purchase the DVD, it wouldn't have been worth it. - Main Credits (non-actors, which are mentioned further on in the review) -
