...a bad thing to say about it. I think I love it so much because I can really relate to the main characters, Marcus, Will and Fiona (like Will I believe we live in an island age!). Based on the book by Nick Hornby (which sadly I haven't read) it is the story of an unlikely friendship between Will and Marcus, and how once you open your door to one person, others are sure to find their way in too. ...a large 'feel good factor' about them. Hugh Grant is defintely the strongest of the actors in 'About a Boy' , but the entire cast of 'Notting Hill' is strong. Quite honestly, I found 'Notting Hill' to be both sincere and hilarious with the casting of Rhys Evans as genius. Undoubtedly hailed as 'chick flicks', though I would say both were suitable for male and female audiences. Numerous classics on the soundtracks. i would strongly recommend them ... Read review

I've just finished watching House Series 1 on DVD, having come to this series late in the day. Each episode is like a self contained medical detective story. House is a great character, irascible and difficult to work with but forgiven for this because of his great intelligence and snippets of compassion that peek through. The ongoing game of one-up-manship with the hospital administrator adds spice. The story lines are good and production values ...
...an impression of what is happening inside the body, both with treatment and with illnesses. Hugh Laurie is a convincing American.The supporting cast provides a nice mix of characters and the more you watch the more you learn about their backgrounds, so their back histories unfold bit by bit.
