Many people think Sam Mendes's first movie American Beauty was his best as it won all the oscars including Best Director for himself. But I disagree. ...also the manager of Lincoln airport where the action is focussed (as well as on the plane that is). Boy does he have his hands full? Not only is his son in law playing the field but the plane he is flying has a bomb on board AHHHHHHH!!!!! Of course the bomb goes off and everyone is in big bother. Joe Petroni (George Kennedy) gets in on the action trying to save the plane. Though given that the 747 is the best goddam plane ever built he hardly needs ...

Deano has a change of heart when he finds out that they are all going to be safe and that the wife and kiddies will be waiting for him. ...makes the film slightly as Alfie not only has to try to seduce many women he also has to try to make a connection with the audience which i think Jude Law does very well. This is not one of the greatest film but i enjoyed the film and would recommend that you see it, i have never seen the original by Michael Caine, so i could not comment on the fact that it's a remake.
