A Classic
Review of Pulp Fiction DVD by joe-survey

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: ????

...it I first watched pulp fiction around a year ago. At the time i was a slight bit intoxicated after a drink and a smoke so i forgot all about it. When my Gran got me a copy i put it on the side and just forgot about it. Then around a month ago i decided to watch it. Since then I've watched it around 25 times and as it's a video the tape has worn thin and you can't see a thing. I've just ordered the 2 disc special edition last night. What sort ...
...spend this time better watching pulp fiction" In fact that would be the only bad thing about this review. I am an extremely sad person now who is obsessed with fictional people. The characters, the stories, the acting, the jokes, the wrongness of the movie, all of these are factors that make it one of the best films I have ever seen. In fact, it is the best. Everything about it just fits in. I think that the soundtrack is also very smart. The songs ... Read review

Le Pulp Fiction
Review of Pulp Fiction DVD by fuzzybear967

Advantages: Excellent performances
Disadvantages: Very violent

This is a very violent film and also one of my all time favourites, written and directed by Quentin Tarantino the films takes a dark look at the under belly of LA criminal life following a number of disparate low life criminals. The time frame of the film constantly jumps back and forwards so the opening scene of a robbery in a diner also appears later in the film, at the outset the viewer is aware that violence will be a feature allied with strong ...
...because for many it was a film that revitalised their waining careers, in particular John Travolta who plays a low level thug recently back from a trip to Europe and Bruce Willis who plays a washed out boxer who is planning to take money to throw a fight from Travolta employer a violent drug dealer. Tarantno favourite Uma Thurman also appears and she and Travolta share what is my favourite scene in the film when they dance in a restaurant. There ... Read review

Girls Like Me Don't Make Invitations Like This
Review of Pulp Fiction DVD by RazzaLazza

Advantages: A fantastic Tarantino film, never a dull moment.
Disadvantages: Blink and you may just lose the plot.

Having long been a fan of Director Quentin Tarantino, it should come as no surprise that 'Pulp Fiction' is one of my favourite films of all time. 'Pulp Fiction' was the 1994 follow up to 'Reservoir Dogs', a film I first saw at a young age and fell in love with instantaneously. Much like the way in which the films of Tim Burton tend to have a magical feel about them, Tarantino has a similarly distinctive directorial style, one of which I myself am ...
...brought John Travolta success in the 90's and was just a general all round cracker of a film. I get excited about the films of few directors, however every time a new Tarantino film is released I am amongst the first to get down to the cinema and view it. 'Pulp Fiction' is a film which I can view time and time again without ever tiring of, one that I can never get enough of and always enjoy watching. If it weren't a Tarantino film then I feel that ... Loving Shakespeare
Review of Shakespeare In Love DVD by sghawken

Advantages: A movie with it all
Disadvantages: None

...it strikes me that 1998's Shakespeare In Love is an incredibly misunderstood movie, furthermore those that are in the category "misunderstood" have some serious wrong views of exactly what Shakespeare In Love is about, many believe it is a straight laced romance. From first viewing 8 years ago it has become one of my favourite movies; a great romance, an epic tale, a intriguing romance, and last but not least a hysterical sense of humour. The owner ...
...get dried up author William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) to write a new play "Romeo And Ethel The Pirate's Daughter!" Viola (Gwyneth Paltrow) also has similar worries to Henslow, while wanting to become an actress (or at the least an actor) she finds herself due to be married off to Lord Wessex (Colin Firth). The dawning of a new play by Shakespeare and the knowledge that women are not allowed to act; Viola develops a character a pseudonym in fact ... Read review

Advantages: a funny, surreal movie with a feel-good factor included
