Advantages: Historically accurate with terrific battle scenes.
Disadvantages: Not much in the way of dvd extras.

Sharpe is based on the novels by Bernard Cornwell. He is a young infantry soldier in the napoleonic war who gets raised from the ranks by the Duke of Wellington after saving his life. There are 14 dvd's in the box set but there are very few extras. The programme is about the troubles and the battles he faces as a officer raised from the ranks the series concludes with the battle of waterloo. Advantages: Superbly shot, great casting

I have to admit, i was absolutely gutted when this came out. I'd just spent a small fortune on the boxset. On the other hand, I was chuffed to bits, sharpe was back! It'd been a long time since Sean Bean had donned that uniform, and it shows - though it fits in perfectly with the storyline.
