Makes you want to grow unfeasably large side burns
Anyone who has seen this film will know it is a classic, but the brilliance of this film goes even deeper than that.
Zulu, a film made in 1964, was very forward thinking for it's time. Unlike a lot of films of the time, it does not make the enemy look like mindless savages. It also takes in other, deeper, subject matter, such as religion, British Victorian Imperialism, the class system, the military sub culture that exsists between soldiers and the mutual respect between opposing armies, to name but a few.
Most of all, this film deals with grit and determination, from both sides. That is what makes Zulu such a rousing peice of film making.
With a great sound track, great photography, great script and great acting, this film is..well, GREAT!!
Watch it, and you will want to grow some side burns, don a pith helmet and start calling people "Lad".

I see you've posted this as a DVD review, but you've not mentioned the DVD features. Are there any extras? If so, what are they and are they any good? If you add to this, or if you change it to be posted as a "Film Only" review, which can be done by accessing "edit review" above the review and changing the drop down menu under the "Which format are you reviewing?" question at the bottom, please let me know and I'll re-rate.
