playing naked), might seem like an odd cinematic pairing, but not when you consider the title of this horror comedy: ZOMBIE STRIPPERS. When the exotic dancers of Sartre, Nebraska, begin getting zombified, it's up to a few of their own to save the day. Jay Lee (THE SLAUGHTER) wrote and directed this blood-and-boob-filled satire.
A top-secret government agency has unleashed a highly contagiouschemo virus with the power ... more
to reanimate the dead, and when the bugbegins to spread through Sartre, Nebraska's most populargentleman's club, the sexy dancers get an insatiable appetite forhuman flesh. Rhino's is the underground strip club of choice formen in search of some small-town excitement, and when one of thedancers is infected with the deadly virus, she quickly becomes themost popular dancer around. Before long, the rest of the strippersare struggling with the decision whether to stay human and keepcollecting meager tips, or allow themselves to become infected andstart raking in the cash. Robert Englund, Jenna Jameson, and RoxySaint star in a zombie film that aims to titillate and terrify atthe same time.

might just snag your no-budget movie a national release--asZombie Stripperscolorfully proves. The names in question belong to porn star Jenna Jameson and Freddie Krueger himself, Robert Englund, both of whom look quite comfortable in this sleazy milieu. As the title suggests (well, "suggests" might be a mild word), there has been an outbreak of the undead in a strip club, with strippers actually improving their onstage antics after they've become zombies. (Given the number of implants on display, it's a wonder the zombies didn't keel over from silicone poisoning.) Englund is the proprietor of the place, Jameson is a star dancer, and a couple of actresses in the "nice girl" roles don't have to take their tops off, although almost everybody else does. Writer-director Jay Lee fills the movie with political gags and a bunch of philosophy references (Jameson reads Nietzsche, the locale is Sartre, Nebraska), all of which play like a lame attempt to distinguish his movie as something other than a puerile horror-comedy. Only thing is, when you try to disguise the fact that you've made a puerile horror-comedy, it kind of takes the oomph out of both the horror and the comedy. The political jibes are about as feeble as those in Southland Tales, but at leastZombie Strippersis shorter. Shot on video, it looks atrocious, but perhaps that doesn't matter very much. --Robert Horton, Amazon.com

Advantages: Marginally better than expectation Disadvantages: Looks like a porn movie
With no offence meant to anyone, I think you would need to be incredibly silly to tune into a movie like ZombieStrippers and expect a high calibre storyline, and A list quality actors; and providing you are fully aware of this and enter with pretty low expectations you'll be unlikely to get upset by this movie.
Looking like a nasty little porn movie, in that it has that sort of seedy haze that surrounds anything; ZombieStrippers will disappoint the brown raincoat brigade the most, because its deceptive title gives you certain expectations, with only one semi naked scene in the whole movie which only lasts a few seconds, Guys it's time to zip back up. ZombieStrippers aims firmly at exploiting the title to deceive its viewers (although their certainly are zombiestrippers) playing the movie mainly for laughs. "Oh my God their zombies ...
Advantages: None Disadvantages: Really bad plot, really bad acting.
Now I know what you are thinking, with a title like that this film cannot be any good. You would be right. As you have guessed the film is based in a strip club and the strippers become zombies, shock horror.
I decided to rent it from lovefilm, I actually first heard about it after reading an article in Nuts magazine, it seemed like a good way to waste an hour and a half one night if I was bored. Believe me it is an hour and a half I would love to have back.
The only cast members of any note in ZombieStrippers are Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger in Nightmare on Elm Street) and Jenna Jameson, i am told she is a porn star but I wouldn?t know anything about that.
The movie begins with a news broadcast declaring George Bush president and announces that he is developing a chemical weapon that brings dead soldiers back to life ...
Advantages: Different to other zombie movies. Nice scenery. Disadvantages: Bad dubbing, poor special effects
A foreign horror movie, Zombie Lake is a French/Spanish production which was filmed in France. The original language was French, but this DVD version has been dubbed into English.
The original French title for the movie was 'Le Lac de Mortes Vivante', which translates to 'The Lake Of The Living Dead'. As this suggests, as well as the English title 'Zombie Lake', this film is centered around a lake which is cursed, and is home to some blood-hungry undead.
The plot basically begins with the disappearance and killings of multiple female victims. When bodies are found, each victim has been bitten in the throat. The town's mayor is an expert in local history, and it is revealed that during World War II, the French Resistance ambushed and slaughtered a small Nazi patrol which passed nearby the town. To avoid detection, the French ...

Zombie Strippers is a B-movie whose ideas and wit set it well above the great unwashed of the genre (Los Angeles Times, 09/09/2008)
