Thank you very much for all the reads and rates and comments and things! :) Also started to write on Dooyoo under the name of 'Beanie85'. Trying to write different reviews for each site, though I might have a couple on both sites!

I got given the film 'Zombie Flesh Eaters' for Christmas about 5 years ago, and I saw 'Zombie Flesh Eaters 2' and 'Zombie Flesh Eaters 3' for sale for quite cheap just after, so I decided to buy them too so I would have the whole collection..
This film is part of the 'Vipco's Screamtime Collection' which is a large collection of films from lots of different directors and time periods which have 'terrified audiences around the world!'
The slogan on the back of the dvd is 'The Dead Rise Again'. I have seen other zombie films such as 'Dawn of the Dead' and liked them so I thought that this might be similar and that I'd enjoy it.
The dvd has a couple of special features on it. There is a 'Picture Gallery', which shows pictures from the film which you can scroll through with your dvd remote/moouse. These are basically pictures of lots of gore and blood and zombies! I would say there was around 25 pictures in total in this section. Then there is a 'Filmography' where you can choose the main characters in the film and see which films they have previously been in.
I have
not seem Zombie Flesh eaters or Zombie Flesh eaters 2 (though I do have the dvds.. I will get round to it soon!) but I did not find this a problem with trying to pick up the plot. You don't need to have seen the first two in order to see this film.
The special effects are quite amusing to the point of being comic, different coloured lights floating through the air and being swallowed by people, endless green goo coming out of zombies mouths and peoples flesh being pulled off.. There is also lots and lots of dry ice (essential I think for the 80's style Zombie films) Oh, and lots and lots of over-the-top blood spurting everywhere.
The film opens up with some kind of satanic priest performing a ritual with a woman who is in a trance next to him. She then swallows some purple light and gets absorbed in to the ground. Apparently he has used magic to open the third gate to hell. Eek! The island is destined to become the island of the living dead. He claims that no one will escape the zombie hell. In rush a group of scientists who kill this satanic priest. The scientists had come to the island in order to study cancer, and the satanic priest's daughter had died whilst in their care. The priest is therefore trying to avenge his daughters death. The scene then cuts to a couple and their daughter who are running through a forest trying to escape the horror when the parents are killed by a zombie. Their daughter escapes after the Mother gives her an amulet to keep her safe. The last we see of her whilst she is young is her running away through the forest, away from her parents and the zombie.
Fast forward to the future and the daughter is returning with some researchers (along with her trusty amulet), back to the island where it all happened. They have come in order to find out what happened all those years ago. As soon as they arrive they notice things are not quite right. One of their party is bitten by a strange cloaked man. They start hearing lots of spooky screaming.. Are the zombies still there? Will they manage to survive? Will the storyline get better? You'll have to watch this and find out for yourself!
The acting leaves something to be desired, it is somehow not quite credible and I did not really get into the while atmosphere of the film. There are no big names in this (but that's in no way a bad thing!) Just the whole film was a bit cheesy. Some parts of the film were just so ridiculous we were laughing out loud.
The other thing that annoyed me whilst watching this film was that the audio seemed to lag slightly. People spoke and it seemed like their words came just after their mouths moved, so it didn't quite match up.
The music accompanying the film also takes away part of the scare factor, there is electronic, up-tempo, slightly cheesy beat playing thoughout the scary bits in the film on repeat (it sounds like a electronic keyboard demo), and the rest of it has strange screaming.
I bought this about 4 years ago from 'Fopp' back then it cost me £3, which I guess is good value for money since it is about the same price as renting a film. It is currently available from Amazon for £5.99
The running time of the film is 84 minutes. This did seem quite a long time whilst watching it, I was waiting for it to end.
The film was released in 1988, and the film definitely has an 80's feel to it! It was directed by Clyde Anderson and produced by Franco Gaudenzi.
The certificate of the film is an 18, and I would agree with this. Although I did not find the film particularly scary it has a lot of gore in it and therefore adult content.
Whilst the scare factor wasn't there for me, the gore factor definitely was! I am glad I watched this though it's the kind of film to only watch once. I don't think I'll be watching it again. It is good as a comic film to watch, but if you are looking for a good, in depth, scary horror film, I'd give this one a miss!

Production Year: 2000 - Horror - Director: Keenen Ivory Wayans - Original Language: English - Classification: 18 years and over - Starring: Carmen Electra, Anna Faris, Kurt Fuller, James Van Der Beek, Keenen Ivory Wayans
It's not supposed to be good - that's the point. Zombie fans are quite savvy in this respect, the appeal & cult status of these films is due to the hammy acting and cheese with crap effects. Well reviewed hope you enjoy the others when you watch them :)
