Zombie Carnage (Box Set)

Advantages: Some of the extras included on this DVD are quite interesting, decent special effects.
Disadvantages: The film is very dull, the acting performances are incredibly poor.

...for this extra but thirteen is just overkill. 'Scenes of Carnage' is merely a few minutes of flesh eating set to classical music and is yet another fairly pointless extra. I don't really want to waste minutes of my life merely watching zombies eat flesh, I'd rather not in fact and disguising this as a featured extra is really just a little sneaky. Similarly, 'Zombie Effects: From Green Screen to Finished Scene' has an interesting enough title but is just another montage of events as zombies are displayed on screen in various circumstances. 'Bringing the Storyboards to Life' was an interesting one to watch for me, but what I found most amusing about this feature was that I found viewing the storyboards themselves to be more rewarding than watching the events played out on film. ...Now for those who know Fulci the followinf film shouldn't be too much of a mystery but for those who haven't and are just getting into what is sometimes called "Hardcore" horror here is the lowdown. Zombie or Zombie Flesh Eaters as it's known in the UK was brought out just after the worldwide success of other Zombie films like Dawn Of The Dead.It was directed by horror/giallo vet. Lucio Fulci. It is entertaining in parts and is good enough to be in anybodys top ten horror films as it can become extremly intense in parts.The only let down as in all Italien horror films (Normally) is that 1.the film doesn't have a very strong plot line and 2.the dubbing on the english versions are so bad that sometimes lip-synch is out of touch. Once you get into the film the above problems are gone as you don't really care and just want the blood letting... Read review

...Land of the Dead is the fourth film in the George A. Romero zombie saga. But don't worry if you haven't seen the other three films (Night of the Living Dead, Day of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead) you will be able to understand this film just fine! WHATS IT ABOUT? The film is set in the aftermath of the zombie takeover, they now roam earth and humans are trapped in small pockets here and there, scattered around the place. The only way they can survive in their small towns is by having people like our main character Riley; go out into the large towns risking life and limb to get food and supplies from the zombie ridden shops.
