I have to start by saying that my favourite thing about this dvd is that you can pick and mix your own workout. I readily confess to being the most reluctant person I know when it comes to working out, not to mention the least co-ordinated! But I've found that that is no longer a problem thanks to Little Black Dress - excluding the dance section, all the routines are simple and easy to follow. When I realised the sections were only 10 minutes long, I was sceptical to say the least - but was pleasantly surpirsed (well, surprised, anyway!) to find out that each workout was quite intense. The great thing about about each section being so short is exactly that - it's short, so you don't have time to get bored, or convince yourself you'd rather be watching something that doesn't involve jumping round the room.

The only negative thing I can find to say about Little Black Dress is the camera angles. At times, this can make it a little difficult to follow the routines, but even this is not really a problem, as you're talked through each stage of the exercise, and because the routines are quite simple, you'll know them with your eyes shut after doing them a few times (this reviewer does not recommend actually doing the routines with your eyes shut, as doing so may incur damages to yourself, sofa, cat, husband, etc!)

There are five sections, which you can work through all in order for a more intense work out, or just select two or three for more mild workout.

Warm-Up: This is the first, and I would strongly recommend doing it. It stretches off all the muscles you use throughout the rest of the dvd, and is quite effective for preparing your mind as well as body.

Dance: Although not too intense, this is quite complex the first time you do it, and you may find you need to watch it once or twice before doing it. The curse of the camera-man strikes again, but shouldn't present too much of a problem once you have done it a couple of times.

Box: By far my favourite section, this is the most intese on the dvd, and is incredibly simple to follow. Despite having been doing martial arts for over a year, I needed to take a break after this section. Don't let the fact it's only 10 minutes long fool you - it's pure hell (and Iloved every second of it!)

Tone: There's not really a lot that can be said about this section. Again, it is simple to follow, and fairly intense, and you'll know you did it when you wake up the next morning! Not a bad toning routine, but after a few weeks of doing it, I found that it felt like it was lacking that something.

Yoga: This section is so relaxing that sometimes I do it a couple of times a day, just to chill out! There's nothing too intense here, the focus is mostly on relaxing and cooling down. I think it rounds off Little Black Dress nicely, calming you down and puting you in the right frame of mind for a nice relaxing soak in the bath.

Overall, the music running through the background was pretty good - just upbeat enough to motivate you to move, without making you feel like you're being left behind. I have to say I didn't recognise any of it, but that really doesn't say alot - you're more likely to catch me listening to hip-hop than dance tunes! I found the presenters pretty likeable - they don't come across as feeling superior, and really help you to relax into the routines.

I'd recommend this dvd to to anyone who wanted to get fitter, but didn't have much time to spare, or didn't fancy doing one of those dance videos that laves you behind or expects you to be able to tie your body in knots. Simple, straught forward, and good fun.
