One of the original dance films of recent times, this one rocks the bells with some breakdancing shock outs that make you shake your head and look at your mates and say 'that was sick'.
Ok to start with the story is not the greatest but to be honest it doesnt need to be. Two friends (Omarion from B2K and Marques Houston) have a dance crew and make money and respect dancing against other crews from the neighbourhood hoping to make it big, unfortunately they both get caught up in delivering some shady items for a local gangster. From being a fun little earner, they now have to dance to clear a debt. With another dance crew now looking to out do them, times get tough and the moves get tougher.
Of course along with it goes the obligitary falling out of the two friends, a love interest and a death but it doesnt hide the fact that these two guys can dance, and together in a crew (other members of B2K) can really do some amazing stuff.
The final dance competition they enter is just amazing, multiple crews pulling off some great moves with quality tunes playing in the background. I was a bit disapointed when i watched Step up, again moves were all there but the music was not, this dvd does not disapoint in that area, tunes from Timbaland, B2K and Joe Budden set the scene and get your head bopping even though your sitting down.
Special appearances from Lil Kim, Wade Robson, Jennifer Freeman and Steve Harvey make it acceptable from an acting performance point of view but your just inspired by the dancers, they work tirelessly to achieve what is necessary.
DVD extras include audio and video dance commentary, rehersal and final dance sequence compilation, commentaries, making of, multi angle dance sequence and the video to Badaboom by B2K featuring Fabolous
Anybody wanna join my dance crew!!?
