to beginners, but not advanced students. The DVD concentrates on the easier postures of yoga, and also introduces the sun salutation. A big problem with this DVD is that it is rather disjointed. The section “Geri’s postures” is a series of poses one after the other without much connection. It offers a workout, but without flowing from one posture to the next.
Yoga is helpful to develop the body and mind. Geri’s yoga does offer a reasonable challenging workout using core strength, flexibility, and stamina. However, a lot of this comes from the sun salutation. I would recommend this DVD as a reference to learn the postures and perfect them. Katy Appleton is a very good instructor who explains the postures well. The advantage of learning yogafromDVD rather than a book is that Katy demonstrates the posture ...

I practice Yoga for three years and here you will read what my impression is.
Yoga is a way of life. Yoga is for people who want to improve their selves physically and mentally. If your goal is to lose weight and improve physical condition only and you don?t want to change anything related with your mind then you will find that Yoga is boring.
There is a big difference between doing something with and without awareness. Yoga helps us to aware our actions, our body and our mind.
One very easy example so that you understand the difference between the ordinary physical exercise and Yoga:
-turn your right ankle ten times on the left as fast as you want .. this is ordinary physical exercise
-close your eyes, feel your right ankle, take a deep breath, turn it tem times on the left very slowly, take a breath when it goes up ...
