Advantages: Will improve flexibility and tone Disadvantages: Very repetitive and clearly low budget

Unfortunately I have to say that after doing this DVD two times I won't be doing it again for a while. This is because I found it more repetitive than exciting and honestly have better DVD's to workout to.
The DVD is broken down into three sections. The first two are around twenty minutes long and are ... ...the 'freestyle' Yoga dance section.
Standing Stretch
This section lasts around 20 minutes and is made up of mostly Yoga positions such as the tree, triangle etc. It is set on the patio of a hotel and the instructor and a 'guest presenter' (she doesn't say a word, often wobbles and gets it wrong) go through each move. The moves are well described by a voice over and flow from one to the other, however after you have done about ... more

The DVD is broken down into three sections. The first two are around twenty minutes long and are Standing stretch and floor work. The final section is the 'freestyle' Yoga dance section.
Standing Stretch This section lasts around 20 minutes and is made up of mostly Yoga positions such as the tree, triangle etc. It is set on the patio of a hotel and the instructor and a 'guest presenter' (she doesn't say a word, often wobbles and gets it wrong) go through each move. The moves are well described by a voice over and flow from one to the other, however after you have done about six moves you then go back to the beginning and start again. This makes the workout seem very repetitive and you also feel you aren't working that hard.
Floor Work Although most of the floor work is very challenging and only obtainable by someone with a good standard of flexibility it is also as repetitive as the standing stretch section. Lasting around 20 minutes again you work a lot on your legs and also your abdominals holding your legs off the floor for long periods of time.
Yoga Dance This section (lasting around 10 minutes) consists of two dances performed in a studio which are a combination of Yoga positions and dance turns and steps. There is no section to breakdown the dances you are simply launched in and expected to pick it up as they go. As quite an experienced dancer who enjoys watching music videos and copying the moves (I know this may sound sad) I found it very hard to keep up and ended up giving up both times. The second dance is harder than the first and as described on the cover - challenging.
I also found the camera work for the dance section very distracting as it swings back and forth multiple times.
The DVD has one soundtrack for all three sections which has a relaxing drum beat and some strings but becomes repetitive the more you hear it. The DVD would have benefitted from three different tracks for each section to break some of the monotony.
This DVD is not for beginners. It is better for someone who already understands the basic Yoga poses and who has some flexibility. Saying that there are much better Yoga videos available such as Jayne Middlemiss Love Yoga which also offer beginner and advanced options.
Advantages: Great fun - gives you a real sense of achievement - feels like you're really dancing! Disadvantages: Tough for non dancer to pick up - Tring when you have to keep repeating each bit to try and learn it
I get bored easily and was looking for something a little bit more fun than that Pilates and YogaDVD's I've recently been doing. I've never danced before (unless you count Saturday nights out raving and clubbing in my youth) and I have never tried following any choreographed moves before, so this was a first!
The DVD comes across as really fresh, young and funky. The design and navigation of the DVD are great and there are some chilled out hip-hop tunes to get down to. I must be really slow, but it took me AGES to pick up most moves?
One of the really great things about the DVD is that each section is shown to you, then you get to practice it 4 times before they move on to the next little section and everything is broken down into tiny little bits. However, despite it being repeated 4 times, It was not enough for me, and I ...
There is a strong link between yoga and dance and in this programme Susan Fulton creates a workout which is designed to tone, strengthen and improve circulation.
