The basic premise of the film is quiet simple yet undeniably innovative.Carl is a loner,a divorced guy who would rather stay home and do nothing than going out and having fun with friends. The monotony of his life bogs him down and eventually makes him feel like a loser. He decides to participate in one of those seminars where he is made to vow to say "yes" to every question!
The whole idea did seem to be very thin to me initially.I thought this can't go on for long and would ultimately become boring.Kudos to the writing team to take the story forward in such a lovely manner, introducing new characters and opportunities for the story to develop. As ridiculously funny as it may sound(saying Yes to everything),it works out wonders for Carl in every aspect of his life. He sees life in a completely new manner and in the meantime also meets Allison,a completely opposite girl compared to the "real" carl.
The change in his life brings a lot of happiness and looked almost perfect until one fine day he is caught in the airport by the security for some security reasons!Sounds weird? Its a masterpiece to bring this into the script and this is when he has to confront the police and Allison of what has been going on in his life lately.Allison is shattered to bits thinking its only because of his vow that he was being so nice and enthusiastic to whatever she wanted him to do.
The film is more mature and deep in the last half an hour or so and the ending is bound to leave you with a smile on your face.Jim Carrey is in top form and this is his finest performance after Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind.Zooey as Allison is fantastic. She brings in a lot of charm and fun to the character. Other actors play their parts well too.
Say "yes" to this film quickly,or else you will regret it!

DVD Description
In the romantic comedy YES MAN, divorce Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) finds himself stuck in a rut, too afraid to take a risk. At his best friend's insistence, he attends a New Age self-help seminar designed to turn naysayers into yea-sayers. Carl is reluctant at first, but finds the seminar to be ultimately life-changing when he's coerced into adopting a 'say yes' attitude. As the first opportunity to say 'yes' presents itself, Carl hesitantly utters the three-letter word, setting the stage for a domino effect of good rewards, and giving Carrey a platform to show off his comedy chops. But over time, Carl realises that saying 'yes' to everything indiscriminately can produce results every bit as complicated and messy as saying 'no'. The ever-quirky Zooey Deschanel adds her signature charm as Carl's love interest, Allison. An unlikely match at first glance, the pair's on-screen chemistry starts to bloom as the actors play off each other's different styles of humour. Rhys Darby also shines as Carl's loveable but clueless boss, and THAT 70s SHOW's Danny Masterson appears as another one of Carl's friends. While YES MAN marks no major departure from Carrey's previous work, the sweet crowd-pleaser manages to showcase two sides of its leading man.
