The first thing I noticed was the over the top swearing - it was just too much, and left the firm impression that this film is trying to attract teenage boys. This theory is confirmed with the OTT bloody scenes of gore, which are typical teen-slasher movie fare.

Unbeknown to them, a viscious brood of surfer vampires are killing at will, and when Nicole drinks their leader's blood, it's up to Chris to kick some vampire ass and save the day.
WAS IT ANY GOOD: Over all, this film is average for those watching it without knowledge of the first, and weak for those who do.
The first thing I noticed was the over the top swearing - it was just too much, and left the firm impression that this film is trying to attract teenage boys. This theory is confirmed with the OTT bloody scenes of gore, which are typical teen-slasher movie fare.
There are some nods toward the original, with a similar soundtrack that works well, and occasional cameos from original actors. The best of these is do you remember the sax player at the concert from film 1? Now he's fat and busking on the street (I loved that bit).
The only original character in this film is Edgar Frog, who looks surprisingly similar to the original. The build up to his character coming in is really hyped up, and I couldn't help but feel a little deflated (wanted more of the main characters back!)
In its own right, as a vampire film, this is OK, and will appeal to teen boys who like swearing, boob flashing and bloody gore, but in terms of what it carries on from the original, it's not got much to offer. The storyline is so similar to the original, that is goes past paying homage, and just copies it. This makes it predictable and boring.
The one noticable improvement is the special effects, which are much better than in the original, thus adding a sense of credibility the first struggled to achieve.
All in all, an OK film on its own, but a poor sequel.
Advantages: A couple of scene-stealing turns. Disadvantages: Pitiful writing, direction and central performances.
manic didgeridoo and percussion for the hunt and girly flutes for Oh. But once we leave the cavemen?s village Shaprio changes tack with synths and strings or drum machine and bhangra melodies with Arabic pipes for Cain?s village. Sodom?s Holy of Holies is represented by Monty Normanish electric guitar and sweeping strings, before reverting to orchestral arrangements for the last phases of the movie. Overall it feels jumbled.
?YearOne? is a disappointing stab at comedy that fails to make the most of the central conceit. Much of the blame must sit at Harold Ramis? door thanks to his nonsensical writing and direction. A handful of ancient biblical gags don?t make for great humour and in conjunction with baffling plot holes and lacklustre lead performances it?s about as much fun reading the Old Testament. Even the end credit bloopers aren ...

in School of Rock and Nacho Libre, a bit of a "Duffus" or the fat kid in class, never quite fitting in. His best friend Oh (Played by Michael Crea, of "Superbad" and "Juno") is also a bit of an outcast, they remind me of Wayne and Garth from Wayne's World but less cool!
Oh is in love with Zed's sister Eema (Played by Juno Temple), who is really pretty and sweet and has no interest in Oh, Zed is in love with Maya (Played by June Diane Raphael).
Zed decides to eat fruit from the forbidden tree, giving him knowledge (apparently), he is caught and banished, he leaves the tribe on his own as no one, even after he speech, would come with him, not even his friend Oh. DVD Description
Jack Black and Michael Cera headline Harold Ramis's Biblical comedy about a pair of misfit hunter-gatherers who embark on a wild journey through the ancient world after being banished from their primitive village. Zed (Black) and Oh (Cera) may lack in the skills that their chieftain is looking for, but they have plans to make it big. Zed has a gut feeling that God has "chosen" him, and so he leads his buddy on a trip through the unknown countryside in search of bigger and better things, bumping into several weird characters along the way -- like a feuding pair of brothers named Cain and Abel (David Cross and Paul Rudd). Unfortunately, their quest for greatness hits a few snags, like being sold into slavery, and later becoming the object of interest to a very amorous, very hairy high priest (Oliver Platt) in the opulent city of Sodom.
