In my opinion every X- men movie has something different to offer. the first movie bought the comic books to life more than the other two films with more references to the comic book series. in the first movie you learn how the X-men finally come together. the movie and story line itself was was great and the fight scenes were unexpectedly realistic in the sense of the existence of mutants.
The second movie lowered the tone of pure rage filled storylines to more of origin. e.g. Bobby Drake(Iceman).
The third movie is the most disapointing in my opinion on the basis of it directs itself away from the origional theme of the X-men concept as it is based upon teamwork and even the rebelious Logan(Wolverine) is portrayed not as a man who doesn't need any support, but as a man who is depending on team co-operation.
I think this is denying the whole feel of the animal that is the Wolverine.
The trilogy is a geat boxset to have if you don't have true passion for the X-men but if you enjoy family entertainment mixed with some humor.
