I have never read the comic book version of the X-Men, although I loved the TV cartoon. The film does it justice. However, one of the worst things about it is the absence of Jubilee, Gambit and Beast. Despite this it is still easily one of the best films around right now. Thankfully, changes have been made to the costumes, into stylish black leather jumpsuits. There is even a joke about this when Wolverine is confronted by his outfit, Cyclops tells him: "What did you expect, Yellow spandex?".
The story revolves around Rogue. In particular it concerns Magneto forcing her to help with his evil plan to turn all the world leaders, gathered in New York for a UN summit concerning mutants, into mutants. One thing in particular that is disturbing about this film is Storm's wig.
On the whole, this is a fairly short, but very good film.
