Myself and my partner went to see a preview showing of the X-Men last night and despite the fact that we had both heard equally good and bad reports about it, I thought it was absolutely fantastic. For those of you who haven't had the joy of living with a 25yr old guy who has collected comics since he was knee-high, let me enlighten you. His collection of X-men Saga's fills our whole spare room and he is like a dictionary of every super-hero and its power etc, etc. You may find this a little strange but, all I would say to you is, have a read (if they let you! - I have to wear gloves to read his comics! Honest!). You will be suprised how quickly the comics hook you and in just one week I know a helluva lot more about the X-Men and how, and why and all the other questions, which meant, I think,that I was able to enjoy the film so much more. So see the characters in the comics actually come to life is truely quite amazing. Bryan Singer is an artist indeed,.... the rivalry between Wolverine and Cyclops was done to perfection, the way Storms eyes turned white, wolverine's flirting with Jean Grey...all really topped off the film. I can't wait for there to be another one, and because it is based on stories from comics that date back to the 70's, they have got an abundance of stories that they can re-create. Im so excited. I want to go again!
