I saw the first Wrong Turn a while back, and thought it was a pretty good movie, but it wasn't the best I'd seen. And my Lovefilm rental list was getting a little low, so I thought I'd add this and watch it and see if it was as good, if not better than the first.

Plot.
The film starts with a woman driving a fast sportscar down a secluded road, while talking onto the phone to someone who we find out is her agent. She is complaining about him not getting her work, and the fact that she has been driving for a while without reaching her destination. She sees a junction and her agent says that is the way to where she needs to be, which is a reality show where she is going to be the only "real celeb", so she drives down this new road and as she is talking on the phone she runs someone over, and gets out to see if they are ok, when she gets close to him he attacks her, but someone is behind her and chops her completely in half. We then see the two men dragging the body away in 2 parts.
The film then goes to the set of a new 'survivor' style reality show and we see six individules, who will be playing against each other to win the prize of $100,000. There is a twist to this reality show though, in which the main theme is a post apolcalypric world, where they are the only survivors on the planet, and must work together to get through various challenges.
The host of the show is a ex- militant man, who guides them through each challenge, and will give them survival tactics.
The show starts going to plan for a while, until they start to become killed off one by one, by a family of bloodthirsty imbred hillbillies who hunt their victims for food.
My Opinion.
I saw the first Wrong Turn a while back, and thought it was a pretty good movie, but it wasn't the best I'd seen. And my Lovefilm rental list was getting a little low, so I thought I'd add this and watch it and see if it was as good, if not better than the first.
The acting from some of the main cast members, Erica Leerhsen as Nina Papas, Henry Rollins as Dale Murphy, Texas Battle as Jake and Daniella Alonso as Amber is pretty good, although its nothing worth of an award. But they do their job as the prey of the cannibals well enough.
The first movie, had a good storyline and was at times actually quiet scary, but this movie is not scary at all, and tends to leave all the horror aspects out of the movie, and focus more on gore and gruesome death scenes. If you like gore in movies, then theres a chance you may like this alot, but if you want to actually feel scared then this isn't the movie for you at all.
The crew of the movie, seem to think they have made a perfect intestines prop, using it around 3 times in the movie, and it being mainly the only thing seen in a pile of blood after the murders.
Overall, if you've seen and enjoyed the first movie, and aren't interested in a decent horror storyline, then definetly watch this, although I'd reccomend you rent it and don't buy it. I'm glad I did rent it, because I'd have been even more dissapointed in the movie if I'd spent good money on it.
The movies roughly 90 minutes long, and you could probably waste your time on much worse than this. And due to the violence I wouldn't let your children watch it.

It's not a masterpeice by any standards but it's still a lot better than most of the horror coming from Hollywood lately, I think it was fairly well acted, especially from Daniella Alonso & Steve Braun, I felt only Erica Leerhsen acted badly and her character annoyed me quite a bit, I think if you watch this film just wanting a gory horror you will ...

This entertaining sequel to the far milder 2003 retro horror is one for the gore hounds (Ultimate DVD, 05/12/2007)
DVD Description
WRONG TURN 2 takes similar backwoods horror flicks like TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES as its inspiration, providing visceral thrills aplenty, the requisite amount of dumb teenage characters, and the always entertaining former Black Flag singer Henry Rollins in a leading role. The sequel focuses on the inbred mother and father characters who are parents to the villains of the first film. In this instalment, the creepy duo plague the contestants of a SURVIVOR-like reality series when they get lost in the dreaded backwoods.
