Fine, call wrestling fake. Yep, it's all chereographed, and yep, some of the storylines are written weeks, maybe months in advance. And then watch this video and realise that, even so, backstabbing is still commonplace even in a manufactured industry. For those of you who don't know (or don't care), Bret "HitMan" Hart was one of the biggest names in wrestling through the eighties and nineties, making his name as a 5-time WWF Champion. This documentary follows him through his final year with the WWF, where he is betrayed and left heartbroken by many of those he considered once close. If you ever needed proof that Vince McMahon's "corporate bastard" character isn't an act, then watch this. Even to those who don't like wrestling, it's an interesting incite into what really goes on behind the scenes. Bret Hart played a large part in making the WWF what it is to day - just read the Rock or Mankind's autobiographies to see that - and lost both his career and, two years later, his little brother to the Federation. It's a sad story and this video shows the sad truth.

This is a good dvd and a must buy for Bret the Hitman Hart fans. With all honesty i`m a Shawn fan, but i really enjoyed watching this dvd. You follow Bret the Hitman Hart through training and behind the scenes of the wrestling federation. Its hows a lot of what Vince probably wouldn`t want you to see right through to the end of Brets career within the wrestling federation yes that very controversial match against shawn, where he lost his total without knowing it. It shows you the confrontation between himself, vince and shawn. A must buy for all wrestling fans.A Good behind the scenes look.

The Real Truth Review ofWrestling With Shadows (DVD)by

Advantages: Disadvantages:
...at the truth behind pro wrestling and gives a fascinating look at performers who are out of character. The film follows Hart for a year after he decided to return to the WWF and ends with the showdown in Montreal where Shawn Michaels walks away with the WWF title. Highlights include hearing the conversation between Hart and Vince McMahon before the match and the way the match was planed to go and the locker room fight that happened after. A fascinating ...

Advantages: a good insight into a very famous wrestling star Disadvantages: a somewhat biased view of events leaving out certain facts from the film
...ideas both have for the wrestling business and for its future. It shows Hart at the top of his game both professionally and personally. The film has a definite emotional intensity that will only find in a few wrestling documentary and do to the fact that it wasn't sanctioned by the wwf has an interesting slant on the motives of the McMahon family and there executives. The film also shows multiple wrestlers who fans will recognise along with showing ... ...first time we see pro wrestling like we have never seen it before. Harts reaction is extremely good entertainment if nothing else as his confrontation with Vince McMahon. Disadvantages include the lack of coherent structure all though this hardly a major issue and generally just a tad bit too long. All in a good nights entertainment ...

Advantages: Backstage footage, gripping 'true' story Disadvantages: Lack of 3rd party opinions
...the most famous occurrence in wrestling history and it's the circumstances leading up to the event and how it was worked that make it fascinating.
The story in brief...
- Bret Hart works for the WWF (World Wrestling Federation), now WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)
- The boss, Vince McMahon, says he can't afford to keep him and that he should take offers from their direct competitor, WCW (World Championship Wrestling)
- Bret holds the WWF ... ...the greatest story in pro wrestling history and this is a true one! It's had fans divided into two camps for many years now - pro Bret or Pro Vince - who did the right thing and who is the villain?
This is a must for any wrestling fan and one for anyone who likes to study people. A roller coaster of emotions with a cast of interesting characters and one very big question....
Bret Screwed Bret
or
Vince Screwed Bret?
Watch the DVD and decide!

Advantages: Great insight on what its like "behind the curtains". Disadvantages: Would of liked to of heard other wrestlers opinions
...matter. This is no normal wrestling DVD, its all about what goes on behind the scenes in the life of a professional wrestler. This is a real life documentary following the ups & downs in the life of Bret "The Hitman" Hart and his final year with the WWF, and this documentary really did change the way that wrestling fans looked at the business and opened their eyes to a different side of professional wrestling.
It it a fantastic look at the life ... ...the most famous incident in wrestling history and what would later be called "The Montreal Screwjob"
Weather you support Vince or you support Bret
