Review of It's A Wonderful Life DVD by  assethound

Advantages: Beautiful film, makes you glad to be around
Disadvantages: It ends

...It's A Wonderful Life is probably the best film that Frank Capra ever made. Although it is sentimental, George Bailey (James Stewart) is a likeable hero, and one we wholeheartedly identify with throughout the film. Who hasn't wonderered what it would have been like if they'd never been born? Who hasn't felt that their dreams have been thwarted time and time again. This film makes you count your blessings, and has the weepiest ending of any film I have ever seen. Aside from the emotional content, there are some great comic set pieces, such as the graduation dance over a swimming pool, and Clarence the trainee guardian angel.... Read review

Timeless and Magical
Review of It's A Wonderful Life DVD by  rgreenwood

Advantages: Great feel good entertainment
Disadvantages:

..."It's a wonderful Life" is one of those classic magical films it seems Holywood doesn't make anymore. It is about the life of small town Guy with big aspirations, George Bailey - played by James Stewart. George wants to leave the town and see the world but through a series of fateful occurrences, usually to do with the family loans company which helps people maintain their homes from the clutches greedy local banker, remains in the small town of Bedford falls. After one such setback George is so depressed he contemplates suicide and whilst standing on a bridge is met by an Angel (2nd class), Clarence, who takes him around the town showing him what the place would be like without him and in the hands of the greedy banker. This is a great story and a real classic. It says a lot about small town America, especially after WWII... Read review

A treasury for Cliff fans and non-fans alike
Review of Cliff Richard DVD Collection - The Young Ones / Summer Holiday / Wonderful Life DVD by  staceyvm

Advantages: Three Movies in One Set, Fab for Cliff Fans
Disadvantages: Each Movie could Support its own disc plus bonus material

...It was a sad day for Britain when Cliff Richard and the gang boogied off of our screens for the last time, but fear not! They are back to a man in this three movie bumper pack. Yes, Cliff, Una (Stubbs), Melvin (Hayes) and Co once again brighten our screens in 'Summer Holiday', 'The Young Ones' and 'Wonderful Life'. There's nothing to quite compare to the kooky schemes in these movies, be it driving a red double decker from London to Athens, shooting a movie in secret or saving their youth club in these nostalgic glimpses of a more innocent time. Filmed before Cliff became the 'Peter Pan of Pop', these three movies show him at his heart-throb best, wooing a succession of beauties (including Susan Hampshire and Laurie Peters) and performing the clean brand of rock n roll that he is, sadly, no longer known for. The movies are presented... Read review

Review of Liverpool FC - Steven Gerrard My Story DVD by  rooneyc7

Advantages: get to see Anfield, see what drives Stevie to victory, Stevie as a family man
Disadvantages: none

...As a massive Kop fan and especially of our wonderful captain Steven Gerrard I decided last Christmas to get the Steven Gerrard My Story from my parents for Christmas. This dvd shows the life of Steven Gerrard. From him leading the Liverpool team out onto the pitch at Anfield to his home life with Alex and his two daughters. In this DVD Gerrard also brings you around Anfield -from the dressing room where the magnificent reds get changed to him standing in front of the world famous Kop stand where those might Liverpool Supporters sing You'll Never Walk Alone and drive their beloved team to victory. The Liverpool FC- Steven Gerrard My Story DVD is a must have for all those die hard red fans and all good football lovers!... Read review

titanically priced
Review of Titanic DVD by  mcpoeman

Advantages: good film
Disadvantages: need I say too expensive?

...at twenty five quid, this has got to be one of the biggest rip offs in the dvd industry, the film is one of the most successful of all time and has raked in more than a billion dollars so the buying public are treated to... a disc ten quid more than its worth. The film in itself is wonderful, well acted even for di caprio, suoperbly directed by cameron and is a wonder for the special effects employed here are simply ground breaking, Id rather have seen a true to life documentary type film, but then theres gotta be some slush added to keep everyone happy. A good film BUT OVER PRICED TAKE NOTE DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES!!... Read review
