Advantages: Many Cameo's, Britishness. Disadvantages: Always waiting for the real action to start.
let the film down, but the lack of a decent script, directing and editing did.
--- CONCLUSION ---
At best Churchill: The Hollywood Years is a 2nd rate BBC or ITV comedy/drama series, but it doesn't even match up to that. A lack of character development was evident as the list of cameos appearing was so long to give any of them a chance. I came out disappointed, expecting all the way through that real British comedy genius would out itself on the screen. So much talent and opportunity went to waste.
-Christian Slater on the film
"Hollywood tends to disregard tradition, history and anything factual, twisting it and turning it?

Advantages: A good idea, with a great deal of potential. Harry Enfield and Slater are quite good, lots of comic cameo's Disadvantages: Neve Campbell's British Accent, A good idea that greatly disappoints, Could have been a lot better, becomes movies by numbers
I?d seen adverts for Churchill: The Hollywood Years a few times at the cinema last year, but I can?t actually recall the film being on. So having been tempted by the adverts and with a number of the roles played by English comedy greats such as Vic and Bob, it seemed a sure bet. I decided to buy the DVD on the off chance as it had looked such a great film in the cinema. When I looked at the extra?s I found the source of my first disappointment, there weren?t any. I was at least expecting some outtakes or even the theatrical trailer, but no there wasn?t anything.
The film itself had a lot of potential. Its shot through the eyes of Hollywood who decide the man we all knew as WinstonChurchill isn?t suitable for their movie. So they make him a stooge used by the British government to ease the British public?s fears. The new Winston ...

Then the quote arrives, the whole quotation process having taken a little over 5 minutes. As a rough guide to prices I (36 years old and married) pay just under £450 to insure a P plate Rover 214si 16v comprehensively, which also includes protected no claims and CLAS. Bear in mind that my postcode isn't brilliant and the car is not garaged overnight. There may well be more competitive quotes out there, but I haven't found one yet.
If you're happy with the quote you simply go ahead and accept and your documents are usually with you within two days. Payment can be made by most cards or they will accept a cheque through the post but this would delay your cover. A monthly payment scheme by direct debit is acailable too, but this carries a 'store card' type APR of 23.7 %, ouch.

This miniseries is based on Sir Martin Gilbert's acclaimed biography of Winston Churchill. Covering his "wilderness years," the period between 1933 and 1939, the series begins as Churchill (Robert Hardy) resigns from his post as Chancellor of the Exchequer and heads into an uncertain political future. Absorbing and well acted, WINSTON CHURCHILL: THE WILDERNESS YEARS is a fascinating portrait of the 20th century's greatest political figure during that century's most troubled time. The collection features the last two episodes of the series.
