~Synopsis~

The story begins in the Hundred acre wood, where we see a Christmas Eve party at Pooh's house, and hear stories of holidays past, about the year Santa almost didn't get their letter, and how Pooh forgot to ask for a present!
Pooh then goes on a quest to get the letter to Santa but after a failed attempt, he decides to become Santa himself for his friends.

We now return to present day and see the friends opening their gifts, but as Pooh goes searching for a present for Piglet, he falls asleep!

Pooh awakens on New Years Eve, and after fond memories of Christmas have passed, we now find Rabbit trying to organise a New Years Eve party for his friends. But after a while Rabbit is getting quite annoyed and becomes fed up of his friend's ways. Rabbit threatens to leave for a place he calls 'paradise' somewhere he can live in peace and quiet.

So in a bid to make Rabbit change his mind and stay in the Hundred acre wood, Winnie, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore each make a resolution to change. But by changing, they don't realise that they're taking on each others personalities!

Pooh gives up honey and in turn becomes miserable, Tigger stops bouncing and becomes very timid, where as Piglet tries to overcome his fears (of everything!) and gives bouncing a try! And poor Eeyore who's always gloomy tries to perk up and be happy (for once!)

~My Thoughts~

Winnie the Pooh is a well known children's favourite, and after watching movies like this one, I know why. A brand new straight to video - full length adventure, that's a lovely tale of the festive season, fun, friendships, and how it's always better to be yourself!

Winnie has been on our screens since 1966 and present day it's still as popular as ever.
The movie is a direct follow up to the 1991 Christmas special, 'Winnie the Pooh and Christmas too.'

As it's a straight to video release, there's nothing spectacular about this movie, but its fun and a lovely story, which both boys and girls will enjoy over and over again. Although it's better for younger children as older ones can get a bit bored in my experience, but none the less it's entertaining and charming as all the other movies are.

And great to watch near Christmas time! So get the duvet, some hot chocolate and enjoy!

~Bonus Features~

•'How Christmas is celebrated around the world' - A featurette looking at different cultures.
•Two fun games - 'Covered with snow', - In which you have to find out which character is beneath the big piles of snow! And 'New year's eve party' - A lovely matching and selecting game.
•There is also a lovely environment feature, in which a delightful view of a cosy room with a roaring fire and a decorated Christmas tree on a winters evening, a magic sight complete with sound effects, really lovely.
•There are also some sneak peeks at movies such as 'Piglets big movie' and Lilo and Stitch.
•A sing along feature is included with subtitles, songs from the movie include:
'Winnie the pooh' - Carly Simon
'Auld Lang Syne' - Carly Simon
'Snow snows'
'Trimming the tree with jingle bells'
'Happy pooh year'
'Jingly bells'
'Hunny, no not for me'

~Trivia~

The movie won the DVD Premiere award for best editing and was nominated for best screenplay, best animated DVD premiere movie and best original score.

Thanks for reading.
