Will and Grace is an American sitcom set in Manhattan. Plenty of canned laughter and characters you can't help but laugh at. Will Truman (Eric McCormack) is a successful lawyer with a great sense of humour. Grace Adler (Debra Messing) is a vibrant young designer who runs her own company and at times can be slightly wacky. Will and Grace are best friends and share an apartment. They spend most their time looking for love. They would make the perfect couple if it wasn't for one thing, Will is gay and Grace is straight.
There have been 7 seasons of Will and Grace which is a good thing if you have never seen it before and want to get into it, the price of the earlier box sets are coming down. You can pick up the complete Season 1 on DVD for around £19.99. There are 6 DVD's featuring all 22 episodes and lots of bonus features including Cast And Crew Interviews, Behind The Scenes Footage, Exclusive Series 1 Bloopers, Themed Montages and Biographies.
In my opinion you will either love or hate WIll and Grace. If you generally like most American sitcoms the chances are you will find this entertaining. If you would prefer not to watch gay relationships or camp comedy Will and Grace deifnitely isn't for you.
The supporting actors in this show are fantastic. The highly comical Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes) and the ever eccentric Karen (Megan Mullally) are never too far away to help keep the comedy rolling.
Jack is a budding actor (or so he likes to believe) and also gay. Unlike Will he is extrmely feminine, and although he insults Will at every opportunity deep down he cares greatly for him. Jack never seems to have a job, but his friends all support him financially.
Karen is an extrovert. Married to a very wealthy business man she can have whatever she wants. Although she works for Grace at the design studio she never actually cashes her pay cheque.
Despite there being only 4 main characters it doesn't affect the programme at all. There is a wonderful balance between the characters and their antics will have you smiling all the way through.
Here is a little taster of a couple of the episodes.
Episode 1 - Love and Marriage: "Hi, you've caught me in the biggest dilemma of my life. Grace was about to finish with Danny and suddenly he's proposed to her! So, what can I do? She's my best friend, and he's a post coital, high five-ing mistake. I'd ask Jack but he seems too preoccupied with his Jewish Cowboy ex, and Karen, well, she'd just recommend I go shopping...!"
Episode 18 - Yours, Mine or Ours: "Well here's an interesting one - a new guy in Will and Grace's block has invited them BOTH to dinner. Lock him in a room with JAck for 2 minutes, that's what I say - he'll soon sort out whether he's gay or straight! Right, now I've got to give my driver the bad news - apparently knocking down pedestrians is NOT good..."
