The Plot::
This is the wiener movie, a hysterical and irreverent new comedy in the same category as road trip. If you enjoyed that movie you will have a giggle out of this one. Three friends embark on a crazy cross-country road trip filled with oddball characters, strange bodily fluids and, of course, delicious hot dogs for everyone! When happy slacker Joel is publicly humiliated on the "Dr. Dwayne Show," he falls into a serious funk until his friends Wyatt and Ben force him to join them on a cross-country road trip. The three guys set out in Wyatt's self-made wiener-wagon to hand out free hot dogs across America, with the hopes that the crazy stunt will land Wyatt his dream job working for Oscar Meyer. Advantages: Twisted addictive comedy Disadvantages: Subjects may put some viewers off
Todd Solondz first movie is a twisted tale of small town life through the eyes of an unpopular 12 year old girl. Welcome To The Dollhouse is rather hysterical, but in a manner that most might find disturbing when hearing about the subject matter; Solondz takes issues that we should not laugh about and makes them funny. In fact if Solondz had made this film five years earlier the movie probably would have been banned and he would have been outlawed. Through excellent craftsmanship this movie is made more acceptable, but there still is the ability to shock.
For the Wiener family only one child is truly accepted; Missy Wiener is the youngest child, and the only really loved child of Mr and Mrs Wiener. There other two children Mark and Dawn are more of a disappointment. Mark is a typical nerd child who loves computers and is trying to ...
and reconstruction following WWll, most of the Neo-Renaissance building is actually only decades old but has been built to the original design.
The façade has five alcoves over the main entrances, each housing a bronze statue by Ernst Julius Hähnel representing Drama, Fantasy, Heroism, Humor, and Love.
To either side of the building are two graceful fountains designed by Hans Glasser. The one to the right hand side depicts the siren Lorelei supported by figures representing Grief, Love and Vengeance. Unfortunately, when we visited, the statue on the left hand side was covered whilst work was in progress so we did not actually get to view it.
The Interior
The interior is a reconstruction of the oriniginal design. Though it attempts to capture the grandeur of the original building, an exact reconstruction would have cost too much.
