White Dragon (Subtitled and Dubbed)

Advantages: Original, beautiful...
Disadvantages: Dubbed, but you wont notice once you get into it...

...How do you start with a film like this. It's either superflously cheesey, or superbly sublime. It's a cross between The Matrix, Enter the Dragon and any Jackie Chan Movie... no i do it discredit. I shall stop and start again... It was really good. I liked it. Now i've secured a 'fairly good' rating i'll take it to pieces... First mistake: Went into the video shop and picked up the video pictured above. Handed over my hard earned cash, and wandered into the great unknown (car-park) to discover it said sub-titles? Usually i would have just dealt with this, but it was monday. I was brain dead and recovering from a stupid weekend. This was no good. So went back and found the one with the white(ish) cover (dubbed) thinking that this would be a 70's style, badly dubbed pawn movie style of affairs. But at leaast i didn't need... Read review

Advantages: Hilarious Comedy, Beautiful Art & Background
Disadvantages: Only 2 Episodes, Out of Print dvd

...Dragon Half was made in 1993 and was originally meant to be a 4 part ova however due to poor sales only 2 episodes were made. This is a great shame since Dragon Half is a fantastic comedy set in a bright colourful fantasy world. Our tale begins with the Dragon Half named Minx who is half dragon and half human. She gets her dragon from her mother and her humanity from her father who used to be a famous dragon slayer, ah the irony. Minx is a huge fan and absolutly adores the pop idol Dick Saucer who unfortunately is also a dragon slayer. Your know when Dick Saucer is going to appear because he always sings his name 'SAUUUUUUUUCCCEEERRR'. You wouldn't think a silly, wacky comedy would have such an involving story. But it really does suck you in and it really is tragic how the anime ends on a big cliffhanger at the end of the last episode... Read review

Advantages: Humour and action......!!!!!!!!
Disadvantages: Storyline slightly simple.....

...Jackie Chan never ceases to amaze me. With his countless action movies which have been successful, this movie comes second only to Drunken Master. You can watch this movie in Cantonese without subtitles, in Cantonese with English subtitles, in English dub without subtitles and in English Dub with subtitles. This movie really is one for your classic Jackie Chan collector's edition. The genre mixes diversely between action and comedy and strikes out a prefect balance. This movie made me laugh alot, however it also intensified me during action scenes. Jackie Chan uniquely used ordinary day objects such as chairs, fans and tables to show why he truly is the 'Young Master!' This movie has been lavishly choreographed and directed by Jackie Chan...thus we see Chan's brand of jesting humour along with his uniquely implemented stunts... Read review
