The movie starts off with us seeing what got the two main characters to Vegas. Joy McNally (Cameron Diaz) has just been dumped by her fiancé, and Jack Fuller (Ashton Kutcher) has just been fired from his carpentry job at his fathers (Treat Williams) business. Joy for a gift to her fiancé bought two tickets to Vegas, which her best friend Tipper (Lake Bell) convinces her to use. Jack is led to Vegas by his best friend Steve (Rob Corrdry), who suggests that they go and have some fun.
Joy and Jack are introduced to each other when they are mistakenly given the same suite, which leads to the guys being attacked by the girls. Joy and Jack then try and show each other up by seeing who can sort out the mishap. This leads to the four of them going out for drinks and getting absolutely hammered. When the wake up the next morning to find that they are married, they both agree that it was a mistake and that they want to get a divorce. Shortly after this, Jack wins $3 million on the slots, which Joy is also entitled to as they are married. This is where the fun begins.
Back in New York, a court judge demands that the couple stay married and seek marriage counselling from Dr Twitchell (Queen Latifah) for 6 months. During which time the $3 million will be frozen. In order for either of them to see any of the money, they have to prove to the judge that they are trying to make their marriage work, this means that they are required to live together and get along. The counsellor, to who they are making weekly visits to, will report back to the judge to let him know how the couple if doing.
Kutcher and Diaz make a great performance in this movie. They act well together to make this film enjoyable. Although it is a romantic comedy, it is more a comedy then it is a romantic. The comedy is obvious humour and not subtle, for example the scene where Kutcher's character is peeing in the kitchen sink. Both characters are sarcastic towards each other and the actors play this well, to make it amusing. There are a couple of 'laugh out loud' scenes; however most of the scenes are just 'giggle' scenes. This movie is suppose to be a comedy, and it is that, with little 'serious' scenes to break up the none stop humour.
The film humour is based on a married couple, or couples in general where they play off each other to make outsiders laugh. There is not much to the film which you can relate to, however if you are to find yourself in a similar situation, here's a chance to see what you should do.
The film is a joy to watch, with a lot of entertaining scenes which will have you laughing, and with great performances from both Kutcher and Diaz, it is a winner. Something to watch, at least once. It is a romantic comedy so the story line is predictable, but the humour makes up for the lack of story line.

This is such a great comedy film. I loved it when we saw it at the cinema and it still makes me laugh when we watch it now on DVD.
I think that Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz worked really well together in this and were the perfect pairing for the parts.
