Plenty of people I know who have watched the film disagree with me that it is one of the best western films made.I totally disagree this film sequels a fist full of dollars,of which is also one of the best around of its time. The sequel has been branded unneccesary and downgrades the 1st film but if the film had not been produced the first would not of had the same affect as it did. ...is brilliant as george wasington Mclintock and Maureen o hara as his estranged wife who returns after two years of being away.( who did most of her stunts herself) is fantastic and not forgetting the very young and lovely Stefanie Powers who plays G.W's daughter becky who is returning home from college with a banjo playing dancing admirer in tow. ...be expected from the western 3:10 to Yuma with such actors as Russell Crowe(such films as Gladiator) and Christian Bale(Batman) however after the successfulness of James Mangold Walk the Line, this film has failed to provide a adequate supply of the thrilling scenes which Westerns have come to give us. Advantages: see the film the way it was meant to be seen

...look at the legend of Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Released in this new form it adds extra scenes which give more character study although in places it does seem like there are still parts missing. Nevertheless it is a beautifully shot film which due to the subject matter has a sense of inevitable doom about it. Your dropped right into the action from the start but given no explanation why, you won't find out the reasons behind why a group of men are chasing 1 man until almost near the end of the movie. The main characters are Gideon (Pierce Brosnan) & Carver (Liam Neeson) with a very small supporting cast.
