Best western ever
Advantages: The best western ever
Disadvantages: Alittle slow in places
Without doubt I can say this is the best western I have ever seen, Not only does it paint what I would think is a accurate portrail of life in the west but it is also done in beautiful and sometimes thought provoking way. Clint eastwood not only stars but directs and what a job he does in both roles. He paints a picture of a aging gunslinger who needs money to bring up his two kids. Wondering if he has what it takes at his age and without the help ...

They just don't make them like they used to
Advantages: Riveting, four main stars, the score, the direction, where shall I stop?
Disadvantages: None for me, although it's long and slow, which may not be your cup of tea

Once Upon A Time In The West has been released on various DVD formats. Sadly, I only have the privilege of having seen it as a film only production, but I'm likely to go and buy the film in all its glory and plethora of extras. Rarely am I bothered by extras, but this may just be the one exception. ...

The great Western revival
Advantages: Fantastic acting and atmosphere
Disadvantages: Nothing really
1992 saw a sort of revival attempt at the modern Western, with Clint Eastwood taking up the reins in control of this epic and excellent piece of Western cinema. It is one of those films which sees a main plot line that is not the primary focus of the film, and as such it is entirely engrossing. In many ways, the appeal of the film is more the superb acting from the four main top billing actors, rather than anything else.

A hidden gem
Advantages: Very enjoyable, cleverly made, terrific film
Disadvantages: Dubbing is quite poor
...fame. The result was My Name Is Nobody. Starring Terrence Hill who'd come fresh from previous comedy western hits like Just Call Me Trinity and Henry Fonda in his final western, the film is about a drifter who identifies himself as Nobody and idolises accomplished gunslinger Jack Beauregard (Fonda).
As he progressed further in his career, Leone became more and more insecure about his work, by this stage assigning himself role as producer, although ...
...a couple of scenes. The principal director of the film is credited to Tonino Valerii who successfully creates a lighter tone to the usual western while at the same time maintaining an air of excitement. The excellent soundtrack comes courtesy of Ennio Morricone who elects to compose an over-the-top score to parody his previous westerns.
Although it was destined to fall into obscurity, the resulting film is funny, memorable and enjoyable and sits ...

Some say he's dead...some say he never will be
Advantages: Great acting, scenery
Disadvantages: None I can think of
