The James Stewart Collection
Advantages: He presents a man of quiet sincerity Disadvantages: He plays himself in all roles
This collection featuring the actor James Stewart showcases all that
is sincere in his body of work. Vertigo ( an alfred hitchcock vehicle)
is a money that signposts the maincharacters inadequecies but it gets turned around to his advantage.
James Stewart played great men such as Glen Miller in the Glen Miller Story or as flyer in the Spirit in St. Louis. He was an accredited
pilot who signed up for world war 2. His forays into the classic western ...

Once Upon A Time In The West has been released on various DVD formats. Sadly, I only have the privilege of having seen it as a film only production, but I'm likely to go and buy the film in all its glory and plethora of extras. Rarely am I bothered by extras, but this may just be the one exception. ...

Geronimo
Advantages: Loads of Action, Shooting incidents, Good Actors Disadvantages: Some battles were not historically accurate
...The Apaches are led by Geronimo played by Wes Studi and are refusing to give up their land without a fight. The film has many battles and some are quite gruesome. In the film Geronimo is portrayed as a fierce warrior, but also someone who you can grow to like as there are many examples of him having friendships with US Army personell especially lieutienant Gatewood. However he can be deadly to people who stand in his or his people's way.
The film ... ...an Apache Scout to find Geronimo and convince him to surrender. However in the end the Apaches are shaped to florida to go to jail and so are the Apache Scouts that helped the Army. It is in the train when you see one of the main scouts telling Geronimo how he wished he didn't join the army but helped the Apache but another Indian tells the Scout that because of his actions he would be hated forever. I thought this was a significant part of the film ...

Wanting to Die as he Lived!
Advantages: Good story, good acting Disadvantages: A Western, John Wayne!
The Shootist was John Wayne’s last ever film as he soon after dies. I was forced to watch this by hubby as it was his turn to pick what we watched. I have to say that it wasn’t too bad and probably the best one I have seen John Wayne in, so far!
John Wayne plays the role of John Bernard Brooks who finds out that he is dying of cancer. Brooks decided to go back to Carson City where his friend is a Doctor to get a second opinion. Here he sees Dr Hostetler, ... ...the second opinion. Dr Hosteter has the hard job of telling his old friend that there is nothing which can be done for him and he only has a short time left to live.
Brooks decided to stay in Carson City much to the disapproval of the Sherriff who believes that trouble will follow him and takes up lodging in a boarding house which is run by widow and her son, played by Lauren Bacall and Ron Howard. Ron Howard’s character is happy for the new house ...
