Review of "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"
Review of The Good Bad And The Ugly DVD by blackhawk1984

Advantages: Fine performances; and storyline
Disadvantages: None

It is definitely one of the best movies, I have ever seen. With the american civil war as the background, three bounty killers set out to take into their possession, a large sum of money which was buried in a grave by a dead soldier. Circumstances bring them together and they strike an agreement as Clint Eastwood alone knows where the money is. Clint Eastwood is instrumental in his performance. There are many power packed dialogues, which linger ...
...several funny imprecations. The background music has become history. The scene where Clint Eastwood blows a bridge is dealt with beautifully. There are some funny instances where Clint Eastwood becomes a prisoner of the Union forces for appearing in a confederate uniform. The movie is full of surprises. All in all a great movie to watch. ... Read review

one of the best
Review of For A Few Dollars More (Wide Screen) by slamdaduncan

Advantages: great movie, clint eastwood
Disadvantages: 15 certificate

Plenty of people I know who have watched the film disagree with me that it is one of the best western films made.I totally disagree this film sequels a fist full of dollars,of which is also one of the best around of its time. The sequel has been branded unneccesary and downgrades the 1st film but if the film had not been produced the first would not of had the same affect as it did. Clint Eastwood is at his peak in both the films and so is the ...
...i know that he is a star.the theme in both films is incredible and i am told that there are other films that have been based on the same theme to try and get money and more viewers but since the two fabulous westerns came out no film has continued with the success that they did. Altogether a great watch ... Read review

The Good Bad And The Ugly review
Review of The Good Bad And The Ugly (Wide Screen) by petery36

Advantages: Good Length, Very exciting, great soundtrack
Disadvantages: Quite old fashioned for younger viewers, violent

Clint Eastwood (Blondie) stars as the 'Good' in this thrilling Western adventure that certainly doesn't fail to impress. The movie is 177 minutes long and every second is unmissable right from the very first scene. The movie is set during the American civil war and this does certainly play a part in the running of the film. Lee Van Cleef (Angel Eyes) is the 'Bad' and certainitely lives up to this role as he commits both murder and torture during ...
...methods do justify this name. The movie itself takes place in the schorching heat and this has some role to play in how the characters act towards each other. The movie is thrilling and the ending is certainly worth waiting for as the suspense is truly brilliant. Definitely worth a watch, you won't be dissapointed. ... Read review

The original and still the best
Review of Spaghetti Westerns (Box Set) by Boogers15

Advantages: 3 Terrific Westerns
Disadvantages: Box set not always cheapest option, bonus features sparse.

This Spaghetti western box set comprises the three famous Clint Eastwood films, 'For a Fistful of Dollars', 'A Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, The Bad and the Ugly'. All three films were directed by Sergio Leone and have a similar style, building tension using dramatic close-ups (illustrated with the shot on the cover of the box) and a superb and now famous soundtrack. They were all filmed in Spain and some of the back drops and panoramic landscapes ...
...unforgiving territories in which the tales unfold. The violence in the films is gritty and frequent and you may be forgiven for thinking that law abiding citizens were few and far between. There are also brief examples of morality throughout the films however, and some scenes (of the civil war especially), show a very different side to the characters. A fistful of Dollars centres on a small town controlled by two families. Clint Eastwood arrives ... Read review

Nothing like Clint Eastwood
Review of 3:10 To Yuma DVD by galatico1

Advantages: Shoot out scenes
Disadvantages: Not a great role for Russell Crowe

...be expected from the western 3:10 to Yuma with such actors as Russell Crowe(such films as Gladiator) and Christian Bale(Batman) however after the successfulness of James Mangold Walk the Line, this film has failed to provide a adequate supply of the thrilling scenes which Westerns have come to give us. A un-realistic close bond which is created between these unfamiliar foes, which blossoms throughout the film at least adds something different to ...
...and mouse chase between Russell Crowe's gang and Christian Bale, make out for a ending which was to be expected by many of the viewers, after both actors successfulness, this film is a step back in their amazing line up to films in which they have acted and will hope to forget and move on. ...
