A brilliant biographical film

Advantages: extremely accurate
Disadvantages: early years of Wyatt Earp feel a touch rushed

A desperate woman on a desperate trail

Advantages: Excellent storyline, one for everyone
Disadvantages: none, it's great

The Desperate Trail is an 129 minute, graphic western starring Sam Elliott {Road House, Tombstone}, Craig Sheffer {Nightbreed, A River Runs Through It} and Linda Fiorentino {Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma}. Review of The Desperate Trail (DVD)

Another Lone Gunslinger Tale - with a Twist

Advantages: Good performances from Stone, Hackman, Crowe; nice twist on gunslinger myth, interesting despite clichés.
Disadvantages: A few weak links; tighter plot needed perhaps?

...thought that 'The Quick and the Dead' was just another corny western chock-full of clichés. Seeing that Russell Crowe was in the cast piqued my curiosity, and I decided I'd see it anyway. Review of The Quick And The Dead (DVD)

Some say he's dead...some say he never will be

Advantages: Great acting, scenery
Disadvantages: None I can think of

Dunbar, not Dumb Bear!

Advantages: Fantastic visuals, Costner
Disadvantages: Can draw it out too long in places

...most powerful films to date, Dances With Wolves is a thoughtful and emotional tale that requires a bit of concentration. Set in the aftermath of the Civil War, it features KC as a war hero who is relocated to a post near a tribe of Sioux Indians.
