The first Spaghetti Western
Advantages: Clasic Western Disadvantages: None
...name, rides into town on a donkey and then
proceeds to play Two warring gangs off against each other.
A remake of an earlier japanese movie, this violent story
was a turn away from the usual clean cut hero and spotless
frontier town. This is obvious from the start as the hero ignores a small boy being dragged along by a thug. From this moment, you know this is no ordinary western. Eastwood is ideally cast as then loner, who says little but shoots ...

The original and still the best
Advantages: 3 Terrific Westerns Disadvantages: Box set not always cheapest option, bonus features sparse.
This Spaghetti western box set comprises the three famous Clint Eastwood films, 'For a Fistful of Dollars', 'A Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, The Bad and the Ugly'.

They were all filmed in Spain and some of the back drops and panoramic landscapes ... ...unforgiving territories in which the tales unfold.
The violence in the films is gritty and frequent and you may be forgiven for thinking that law abiding citizens were few and far between. There are also brief examples of morality throughout the films however, and some scenes (of the civil war especially), show a very different side to the characters.
A fistful of Dollars centres on a small town controlled by two families. Clint Eastwood arrives ...

Spaghetti Western Heaven
Advantages: All together in a collection, Clint eastwood, the Music, DVD features Disadvantages: none
This special collection has got to be the best Western colection around. Even if you are not a Western fan particularly, the atmosphere will have you reeled in straight away. A Fistful of Dollars features, of course, the Man With No Name (i.e. Clint) arriving into the dusty town to find two rival gangs at war, the Baxters and the Rojos. Clint cleverly plays them both off against each other. There are great gun battles and some dry humour too from ... ...show downs with close ups of the eyes and mouths of the shooters, not to mention the amazing music. For A Few Dollars More is the sequel, featuring our Clint as a bounty hunter teaming up with another guy in the same line of work, Van Cleef. Both are after the outlaw El Indio, and after pursuing him each alone, stumble upon eachother staking out the El Indio's gang and after a cool moment of sizing eachother up decide to go into league to catch the ...
