...I will not lie i am not a western fan, or at least i wasn't a western fan. I approached this film with a great deal of apprehensiveness. it is however a truely astonishing film, in my opinion it is one of the most underated films ever! Val Kilmer puts in a fine performance as the dieing but quick witted and fast handed Doc Holliday, this is a character you cant help but love to watch, he in many ways steals the show. But that is to say nothing against Kurt Russell who is also in fine form playing the lead roll of Wyatt Earp. Wyatt, his brothers and Doc fight on behalf of a town against those pesky cowboys (even if it was some what reluctantly). A truely fine film that was eclipsed at the time of its reals by bigger better funded yet worse cowboy films such as Maveric, yetr the one line that somes up this film is right there on the front...

Advantages: strong dark western, well directed with stylish gothic overtones Disadvantages: the treatment of the female characters may offend

As Eastwood descends into the town he is soon involed in prepraing to protect the townsfolk from three soon to be released gunfighters from prison.Eastwood creates an atmosphere of tension and disgust. The people are portrayed as being greedy nasty and very bad.He taunts them and plays on there fears of death and the audience is given a view of a battle between good and evil. The scene where eastwood paints the whole town in stark red is a visual eye popper, with the image of death approaching. The script is nicely written as the audience doenst know who to trust and is trying to figure out if eastwoods character really has come back from the grave.
Eastwoods performance and direction are first class. His trademark tough and minimilist acting style works beautifully for his enigmatic character. His unshaven...

Advantages: packed full with techniques and information; a serious well presented resource Disadvantages: some may find it pricey (although not if you remember the almost 4 hours viewing time!)
...they are an airy-fairy new-agey load of ... not much, or they are absolutely impossible to follow as they are presented by people who can only demonstrate - not teach. This DVD is in a class of its own.
Dr Yang taught engineering (his PhD, which gives him the title of Dr - he is not a physician - was in mechanical engineering) and he seems to have acquired excellent skills for transmitting knowledge in a manner which is adapted to western minds and expectations. His scienttific background also means that he seeks to understand and explain the traditional chinese theories of health and qi through rational means. He does not wallow in superstitious nonsense, and this is a welcome relief from those who seek to mystify us through the use of half-baked pseudo eastern words and notions...
Of course, the chinese approach to health has always been...
