...the game love it for all the same reasons that men do. The skill. The passion. The tantalizing successes. As far as I’m concerned it is easy to support success, espcially in a club like Manchester United, and I know about that sort of motivation because initially it is why I fell for (and it’s not all that often you read “success” and my club’s name in the same sentence) West Ham in a big way. At the tender age of 6, I was a tomboy who built tree houses, had a coveted selection of marbles and one of the best toy car collections on my estate. ...West Ham fans will know this already. Many other fans around the country will probably agree. WEST HAM ARE TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN! Look at the evidence. A goalkeeper who is about to make the step up to England's Number One. A midfield consisting of three England Internationals, including Joe Cole, the "new hope for English football", and an attack that includes the mercurial Paolo Di Canio and the country’s hottest young striker, Defoe. So, I guess, come May, we will see West Ham planning a season in the Nationwide. Why? Because that's West Ham, and old habits die-hard. If you are thinking of travelling down to Green Street to watch the Hammers play, do yourself a favour. Get down there for a big match.
