For anyone that has kids would know about Lazy town and for anyone that does not have kids think your self's very lucky. The new kids show that has lively music that also is annoying and sticks in your head for days. You can't watch a show without singing to at least one song.

Though the best thing about this kids show is that it helps towards eating healthy and bans junk food.

_______Lazy Town_____________

Well for anyone that does not know by now here is a quick recap about the show and about the characters.

Lazy Town.

For me this has to be one of the best shows that my kids watch. I like the fact that they are promoting healthy eating and getting active. Though don't except your kids to start eating fruit and veg immediately. My son does not and has not done since he was weaned. Though he has got a tad better in picking up the fruit.

Anyway back to the review………

Lazy Town is a upside world with only having 3 human characters and the rest being made up of Live show puppets. The story's are always upbeat and lively and always have the healthy theme behind them. This being getting active or eating healthy. You can always rely on Robbie Rotten for a laugh and to spoil things in lazy town. The show is jam packed with powerful messages to kids and adults. In pretty much most shows there is also a strong message being sent to kids that if you keep trying you will succeed.

The 1st episode really sets the others off where Stephanie comes to Lazy Town to stay for the summer. Before she arrives the kids in Lazy town are all Lazy and most eating sweets and playing video games. By the 2nd series this has all changed and all the kids are active and eating healthy. Well ok apart from Ziggy who sleeps with is huge lollypop.

Characters

There is only 3 main well human characters in Lazy town these are as followed -

Sportacus - Played by Magnús Scheving a well known athlete in his home country of Iceland. Sportacus is the superhero of Lazy town that can't sit still for a second. Sportacus encourages all the kids in Lazy town to eat healthy. He's words are Sports Candy. Sportacus also wants to keep Lazy town fit and healthy and happy. Sportacus is constantly engaged in physical activity, and even does gymnastics just to get from place to place. Even brushing his teeth turns into an acrobatic feat.

Robbie Rotten - Played by Stefán Karl Stefánsson: He is my personal favourite I must admit. Robbie Rotten Is the laziest person in Lazy town and shows everyone how moody he is when he can't get any sleep or peace and quiet. Robbie Rotten does everything in his power to get the kids to eat junk food. Robbie is always try to get Sportacus to leave town and comes up with hair brain schemes that nearly always work but Sportacus always wins in the end. Though I do have to laugh at his hair and chin. See picture below and you will see why. Though I would love his underground lare and wardrobe. You would have to see the show and then you would know what I mean.

Stephanie - Played by Julianna Rose Mauriello. Stephanie is a 8 year old girl that has everyone in Lazy Town getting up and Active with the help of Sportacus of course. Stephanie has bright pink hair hence her name pinkie that Trixe gives to her also all of her clothes are bright pink. She's the major's niece and has come to Lazy town for the summer. It must be a long summer as she's still there.

The rest of the characters are puppets

Ziggy who is the only one that is the hardest to crack about healthy eating but he does in the end. He also wants to be s superhero like Sportacus.

Pixel is the computer genius and the gadget boy..

Stingy who is a mean as they come. He thinks that everyone and everything is his. Often taking things back from others.

Trixie who really is just pinkie friend. Not really sure why she is init to be honest as they all have a meaning and something about them but also a trouble maker at times.

The Mayor who is Stephanie's uncle and a nervous wreck.

Bessie Busybody who has the mayor at her back and call.

_______The DVD______________

The DVD it self contains 5 episodes. Each episodes it pretty much the same. Where Robbie Rotten plans on ruining Sportacus plans and always undermining everything Sportacus does. Also ruining the kids play time and their healthy eating lifestyle. Also lets not forget that in each episodes there is 2 very infectious songs.

Though there is a very important lessons coming through about being active and eating healthy in every single episode. It's done in a fun way but also aimed at kids of all ages.

Episodes -

Stephanie arrives in Lazy Town
Sports Day
Rottenbeard
Defeeted
Dr. Rottenstein

_________Extras____________

This was slightly a let down there is not a lot of extras and the extras that are on this DVD are pretty grim.

Sing-a-long whixh is to only one song. There is also Let's Get Active menu. That's it.

_______Price_____________

I picked up a copy for £12 but this was when it 1st came out. I should say that you could find one cheaper. I brought mine from WH-Smiths and again most places will sell this.

_______My Thoughts__________

Well apart from the music that is annoying but you cant help but sing along Lazy Town is great for kids. I like the fact that it helps to encourage kids to eat fresh fruit and vegetables and exercise. As well as the cheery songs there is also brilliant dance routines to go with them. These are easy for kids to learn and dance along too.

The only downfall really with this show is that each episodes are pretty much the same. Though I suppose when you are 3 or 4 years old you don't really notice that.

Recommend 100% a great buy and any kid would love it.
