million fraud and report it to their boss, Bernie (Terry Kiser). Unfortunately for them, Bernie is the one behind the fraud and he invites them to his island beach house for the weekend, where he intends to have them killed by his mob contacts. Unfortunately for Bernie, the mob decides to rub him out instead--that's when the clerks, Richard (Jonathan Silverman) and Larry (Andrew McCarthy), arrive and discover Bernie's body. At first they panic and start to call the police but when a party of islanders sweeps in, Richard and Larry also discover that the local residents are so self-absorbed they don't notice that Bernie is dead. So if our heroes can just convince everyone that Bernie is still alive for the weekend, they can have a splendid time. Unfortunately, they also convince the mob hitman, who keeps trying to take Bernie out.Weekend at Bernie'swas made at the height of 1980s fashion and features many amusing outfits and hairstyles--often the styles are funnier than the dialogue and the characters are tissue-paper thin. Still, there's no denying that the movie chugs along from bit to bit and never takes itself more seriously than it should, which is a cheerful, disposable piece of fluff.--Bret Fetzer

Its not long before they arrive at their bosses house and while looking around find him in his office dead , not knowing of the resent events that had just happened not long before they arrived.
Just as they are about the call the police, they are disturbed by people who have been invited to the house by Bernie for a party...Richard (Johathan Silverman) is adiment that they ring the police until he suddenly gets his eye on Gwen (Catherine Mary Stewart) he decides that for the moment that they would pretend that he didnt die ''just for a bit'' .

Advantages: Hour Of Non-Stop Laughing Disadvantages: Hard To Buy
Weekend At Bernies is with out a doubt one of the worlds best comedy films. Before anyone starts saying that's crazy you really have to read the review and go buy the film to see what I mean.
Weekend At Bernies is about two office workers, Larry and Richard ( Andrew McCarthy & Jonathan Silverman) who have been given the job of putting the companies accounts onto a new computer system.
While updating the files the two notice a customer has been ... ...and walking around again!!!
Weekend At Bernies provides over 95 minutes of non stop laughing. The performance of Terry Kiser as Bernie will have you rolling around on the floor. How can he stay so still (No fake body was used apart for stunts)
Andrew McCarthy provides a much better performance then Jonathan Silverman. McCarthy plays a more relaxed character and has most of the jokes where as Silverman is just really someone to chat to and keep ...

I bought this dvd at the bargain bin of my local superstore, I had seen it advertised multiple times on various TV channels over the years, but never watched it before.
So, armed with my £2, I headed to the cashier with a DVD I thought would do for some rainy evening in, how wrong I was !
This is one of the funniest films I have ever seen, I will not spoil the plot for anyone, but I think you can tell from the picture off the cover that Bernie ... ...pretend to Bernies closest friends that he is still alive at a millionaires party Bernie was throwing before he was killed.
I have been asked to re-edit the review and post more details for people who have not seen the film. Sorry, it really is a plot spoiler if I do.
If you really need to know, send me a private message and I will tell you, but, like i said, £2 is well worth it.
