This was a really great movie and one you should definitely see. It is about the life of Johnny Cash, the famed American country singer. Johnny Cash is played by Joaquin Phoenix and June Carter (his eventual wife) is played by Reece Witherspoon. I did not know anything about Johnny Cash before I saw this and even if you aren't a fan of his music that will not put you off the film. It chronicals his early life as a child (briefly) before he became famous and then his well publicised battles with drugs. The DVD also contains some special features such as audio commentary, 10 deleted scenes and the theatrical trailer. It is rated 12, only suitable for people over that age as it contains use of strong language and drug use. It is produced by 20th Century Fox and runs for approximately 130 minutes. It has Dolby digital sound and has main feature subtitles. Mostly though, this film is a love story. He was married to his first wife but had listened to the music of June Carter when he was just a child and had such an intense bond with her when they met as adults for many years that it was great ot see the way the relationship twisted and turned through the years. The costumes in the film are great, particularly those of Reece Witherspoon. The best part though has to be the music. Reece and Joaquin actually sang all of the songs throughout the movie and the CD of the film is great. The songs will really get into your head and you will find yourself singing along quite easily! Not really a film for kids as there is a little bit of violence and various drug references. An oscar winning film as Reece Witherspoon won the best actress role for this. HMV are selling htis DDV for £4.99 and Amazon have it for £4.98
