Sunday, March 14th, 2004. Where it all begins…again! The Wrestlemania XX DVD is a must have for any wrestling fan, as it not only contains all the footage from last years spectacular pay per view, but it also has outstanding extra features which shows the history of Wrestlemania. Wrestling may not be for everyone, but for those who enjoy watching this, I highly recommend this WWE product. Wrestlemania began in 1985 in Madison Square Garden, New York and ever since then it has grown to become undoubtedly the biggest and most highly anticipated event in pro wrestling history. Last years event was particularly special as it was the 20th time the event had been held. This DVD contains 3 discs, with the first one containing the first eight matches of the evening, with the second disc showing the concluding matches as well some minor extras. The third disc shows an interesting documentary on Wrestlemania 19 and a 45 minute feature on the top 10 Wrestlemania matches of all time, presented by Ric Flair.
DISC
1
A brief rating of the matches on this disc…..
John Cena vs. Big Show- For the United States Championship, a fairly decent opening match, with a good ending. 7/10.
RVD & Booker T vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Jindrak & Cade vs. La Resistance- This match was for the World Tag team Championships. Quite a short match that didn’t really have much time to get entertaining. 6/10.
Jericho vs. Christian- Not bad, but I’ve seen better matches between these two. This has a surprise ending worth seeing. 7/10.
Rock N’ Sock Connection vs. Evolution- A two on three handicap match which saw the long awaited return of The Rock and Mankind. Perhaps the best match on the first disc. 8/10.
Sable & Torrie vs. Stacey & Miss Jackie- A quick evening gown match and not particularly entertaining. 5/10.
Cruiserweight Championship Open- Chavo Guerrero defended his title against various Cruiserweight contenders. Very entertaining, just a shame these matches don’t go on for very long. Most participants only lasted less than a minute. 8/10.
Goldberg vs. Lesnar- Steve Austin was the referee in what may be the worst Wrestlemania match I’ve ever seen. It was extremely hyped up, but in the end turned out to be extremely disappointing. 2/10.
Scotty 2 Hotty & Rikishi vs. APA vs. Basham Brothers vs. Worlds Greatest Tag Team- For the WWE tag titles, wasn’t really any better than the fatal four way tag match earlier in the evening. 6/10.
DISC 2
The matches on this I think are overall better than disc one.
Victoria vs. Molly Holly- For the Women’s title, nothing special. Molly got her hair shaved after the match. 6/10.
Kurt Angle vs. Eddie Guerrero- The penultimate match of the evening, and for the WWE Championship, this was a match of pure technical brilliance. I liked the ending of this match. 8/10.
Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H vs. Chris Beniot- For the first time the World Heavyweight Championship is contended in a triple threat match in the main event of Wrestlemania. A brilliant match from start to finish, with some excellent spots. This was probably the best match I watched in 2004. In my opinion, the best match on the card. 9/10.
Extras on disc 2 include pre and post match comments, TV promos, WWE confidential and a match from Sunday Night Heat just before the event started.
DISC 3
This disc contains extras and special features, which I rate very highly. “The Mania of Wrestlemania” is a very interesting documentary which shows the events leading up to the previous Wrestlemania of 2003. It features superstars such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar and other big names. It takes an exclusive look at Wrestlers lives up until Wrestlemania and is well worth watching. “Wrestlemania’s Ten Greatest Matches” counts down from ten the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time, voted for by the current members of the WWE locker room. I found this enjoyable and thought that Ric Flair did a good job hosting it. The Wrestlemania gallery displays every Wrestlemania result in its history, from when it began in 1985, right through to the present day. This also includes photos and facts.
Overall, I rate this DVD very highly and can recommend it to anyone who enjoys watching Wrestling.
That concludes my review of the Wrestlemania XX DVD, my first review for this site and I hope you have enjoyed reading it. Please leave any comments on how you think I can improve and if you have an opinion that differs on mine on this event, feel free to express yourself.

Review of WWE - Wrestlemania XX (DVD)
Advantages: Great value for money with over 450 minutes of action! Disadvantages: Specialised DVD, not everyones cup of tea. Does contain some stong violence and language.
