When I saw this double disk DVD, I just jumped at the oppotunity to get it.

When I first started to watch wrestling in 2000, I only faintly new what ECW was - but as my wrestling knowloedge started to grow, ECW had died. I had heard so many stories and tales from the company I had to find out more.

And this DVD is no let down. This is the most extreme, interesting and emotional company the wrestling industry has ever seen.

From the beginning we learn of the sensational events of Shane Douglas winning but then disowning the NWA Eastern Championship wrestling Heavyweight belt, declaring the era of Extreme and the breakaway from NWA and the birth of EXTREME!

However, the most interesting part of the DVD for me is the WWE and the ECW working together in the mid 1990s.

It started at the 1995 King of the Ring, where fans in the WWE arena started to chant ECW! ECW! This is where McMahon took notice and first got ECW on the national stage.

Also included in the DVD is other hardcore moments such as Tommy Dreamers amazing caning match with The Sandman, the highly controvesial crucifixion angle involving Raven and the Sandman.

The close knit family of ECW is also shown, with all the guys commenting on how they all had jobs and got along, and how it was more of family rather than colleagues.

This DVD is very special, and at the current time is ranked 2nd in the best selling WWE DVD's. However, there are some disadvantages.

1. Its a WWE production - so we get interviews from WWE employees, such as Dreamer and Taz, but none from real starts such as The Sandman, Raven, Sabu or Shane Douglas

2. Highlights many former WWE wrestlers who did not play a huge part in ECW, such as Stone Cold. He was in the company for barely any time but somehow has a large part on the DVD.

There are many advantages though, such as :

1. 7 Bonus Matches!

2. 6 Hours of ECW action, stories and controversy.

This DVD is an abosulute wrestling must and is better than any PPV, collection or other wrestling DVD on the market. This is a very though provoking insight to the greatest promotion of all time. E C W! ECW! Ecw ... ecw

Not a bad review. Although I don't watch a lot of ECW it seems as though it might be worth it, but I hope it's nothing like the games!Cheers H

Advantages: You get to see an in-depth look at what happened behind the scenes, there is no hiding the facts here - everyone is truthful.
Disadvantages: Certain guys who you would've like to appear on the DVD couldn't and the match choices for the extra's could have been better.
