Really WWE Unauthorized?

Advantages: Ummm...Nice packaging, cheap and easy on screen navigation
Disadvantages: Most of the information on this 'documentary' is incorrect, bias commentators

speaker or commentator, there is a large, bald wrestler that randomly pops up and wacks the screen with a chair! Now if that isn't encouraging violence, I don't know what is! The video footage, with exceptions of the individual interviews, is somewhat grainy and irrelevant. When discussing wrestlers and other influential people within the stories and sections, the biggest majority of the images were out of date or completely unrealistic for the time of discussion. I did also get a little bit bored with seeing the same picture explode on the screen every two minutes, discussing the same people and storylines. Also, the video footage used was not of any WWE matches but of old indie promotions or from various other live events. This isn't surprising considering the fact that the WWE didn't sanction the release of the DVD but I did think that ...

WWE Night Of Champions 2008 (DVD)

Advantages: Some great title matches, surprising outcomes, and big names
Disadvantages: Some of the first matches were a bit slow and at times not entertaining

the lower card mathces, the final World Title matches have been set up in great fashion for the evening. I enjoyed watching WWE Night Of Champions 2008, the 8th annual Vengeance event, but the second in its name. Perhaps so far it has been the best of all of them. "Conclusion" The quality of the DVD is very good as most that the WWE distribute are. It is a good one for the memorabilia if you are a WWE collector. This night does exactly what Vince wanted to happen, "to Shake things up again." A 3.5 Star to 4 star event if I am comparing this to Wrestlemania's which is the standard to live up to. Some matches however do hit the 4.5 stars which is great to have in the smaller PPV events in the year. N.B. Someone Stole The Ladder

Advantages: A fitting tribute to America's firefighters
Disadvantages: Poor script, average acting, no characterisation

I'd heard quite a lot about Ladder 49. It seemed to have a pretty reasonable cast and the story sounded like one the director could really get his teeth into. It seemed like it would be a fitting tribute to fire-fighters and with that in mind there was a bit of pressure on director Jay Russell. There was only really one big contender for a fire fighting film in Ron Howard's 1991 epic, Backdraft. So Ladder 49 had something to live up to and on paper it seemed like it might just manage it. What often looks good on paper doesn't often transfer to the big screen and that's exactly what I found with Ladder 49. The main basis of the film deals with Joaquin Phoenix's character Jack Morrison, a hot shot fireman who's steadily built up a reputation for himself.
