The Royal Rumble is always one of the most anticipated events of the year and this was no different!

Held at in Miama Florida on January 2006 the Royal Rumble begins to the road to Wrestlemania by having 30 guys fight for a shot at the title.

The card was:

30 Man Royal Rumble

World Title match:
Kurt Angle vs. Mark Henry

WWE Championship match:
Edge vs. John Cena

JBL vs. The Boogeyman

Ashley vs. Mickie James.

Now to be honest, the under-card was a little lacking. The same can be said for most Royal Rumble's as the entire event is built around the Royal Rumble match itself.
Kurt Angle vs. Mark Henry was what you would expect. Angle carried Henry to a somewhat decent match but nothing special. Edge vs. Cena was one of the better main event matches Cena has had. JBL vs. Boogeyman was ok as was Ashely vs. Mickie James.
The Royal Rumble itself was a great match keeping most wrestling fans on the edge of seats as their favourites battled it, leaving fans unsure of just who would walk out with a Wrestlemania title shot. Who did? Well that's the best part of the Rumble, the excitement and surprise so I won't give that away here.
The extras are nothing special:
- The build up to Angle vs. Henry (Good for people wondering why Angle is even on Smackdown)
- RVD and a surprise entrant to the Rumble hanging out (Good for a laugh)
- A look at the past Rumble winners.

The price is about £13.99 however if you look around you can usually find these DVDs for cheaper. This is a good price for a Raw and Smackdown event but as there aren't any matches over then the Rumble that will be talked about for years to come, it could be a bit more than the casual viewer would want to spend.

All in all, it's an ok Rumble DVD. It's nowhere near the best Rumble they've put out but it's still one of the better PPVs in recent memory for the Rumble alone. If you're a WWE fan you should enjoy it.
