The Rock Vs Goldberg ...Charlie Haas) put their WWE tag team titles on the line against Los Guerreros (Chavo and Eddie). The crowd were strongly behind Los Guerreros, it was a good match to kick of the show. When the faces are cheating you know it isn't going to be a honest match. With four talented wrestlers in the ring in was a technically sound match. Eddie lead the match well, good psychology and it was given the time it deserved.

The Rock Vs Goldberg
First up, Team Angle (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) put their WWE tag team titles on the line against Los Guerreros (Chavo and Eddie). The crowd were strongly behind Los Guerreros, it was a good match to kick of the show. When the faces are cheating you know it isn't going to be a honest match. With four talented wrestlers in the ring in was a technically sound match. Eddie lead the match well, good psychology and it was given the time it deserved.
After a quick back stage segment with Test, Torrie Wilson and Sable (Sable looked... well... interesting) it was time for Rikishi vs. Sean o' Haire with Hot Rod at ring side. Rikishi was not looking good, o' Haire isn't exactly hugely talented so this match hadn't got much going for it except Roddy at ring side. Roddy was entertaining, as for the wrestling I'll just move on.
Sable was backstage again with Stacy and they tried to push the Torrie sable feud some more.
Chief Morley is (Val Venis) special guest referee for The Dudley Boyz Vs Kane/RVD. The odds didn't look bright for Kane and Van Dam, a generally good match. Well put together, a really good match. The ECW guys worked really well together and RVD looked awesome.
More backstage divas, this time it is Stacy trying to get her hands on Torrie after some stirring from Sable.
Then it was time for Jazz Vs Trish for the WWE Woman's title. Both are decent wrestlers but they had wrestled so many matches at the time it was boring to see the same thing again. It seemed rather blah even through there are no faults to speak of.
I like the big man vs. little man matches, Rey Mysterio vs. Big Show, it was more a way of getting across Big Show being strong than anything else yet Rey Rey did get some offence in. The ending was not for the faint of hart. It was better than some matches but nothing spectacular.
WWE title match next, I honestly didn't expect much from two rookies, one with barely any ring skills the other who has not bad ring skills. I was pleasantly surprised, the two had worked together before in OVW which I think really helped, the crowd really wanted Cena to win which made it seem like he could have beaten the 300+ pounder. Both guys really did try and showed what they could become with some more experience.
6 man event guys, all talented (Nash is questionable), this was a melting pot of endings and starting of feuds that seemed just flung together. It was an anti-climactic finish and seemed over to quick, though it did stay interesting with so many different guys in the ring.
And finally the main event, The Rock Vs Bill Goldberg, Rocky was going out to do films, Goldberg was getting pushed. It looked like a huge match but it really lacked build up. As you can guess the fans were all for their peoples champ. Interesting to watch WWE and WCW biggest stars face off, it was full of big moves and slams yet little sequences. Goldberg was over selling and I think the Rock was looking to have some fun.
The extras are: Scott Steiner Vs Rico An interview with Theodore R.Long (great) Two short confidential pieces on Goldberg Footage of The Rock in the ring following his match with Goldberg Rey Mysterio after his match Promotion videos for Brock Lesnar/John Cena and Rock/Goldberg
Coming straight off of Wrestlmania I had high expectations that Backlash didn't live up to. It was however a good event, it started of a bit average but picked up with the main events. The extras are better than a lot of WWE DVDs tend to have. Worth picking up if you want something to watch on a rainy day.
Advantages: many marquee stars, Goldberg vs The Rock Disadvantages: too many filler matches
