Advantages: Brilliant staging, brilliant music, whole cast esp Anja Harteros Disadvantages: Bipolar Idamante.... the dude can use some sedatives
...as a king to protect his people from the wrath of Nettuno, and his fatherly love toward his only son. All told in music so gorgeous and dramatic that only Mozart could have written the thing.

THIS PERFORMANCE:
The staging at the 'House for Mozart' by Ursel and Karl-Ernst Herrmann is minimalistic and conceptual. It is really quite educational how they've managed to use such a bare set to effectively represent so many different scenes of the opera convincingly. The stage-front is extended forward with a walk-way that wraps around the orchestra pit, so that the singers can walk around and even place themselves between the orchestra and the audience. This really does wonder to lessen the static quality of this work, as they don't have...

Advantages: Superb sound, crystal clear picture. Disadvantages: Waxed cardboard DVD case - will wear out!
...There are not many people on planet earth who don't know what to expect from an Arnold Schwarzenegger films - violence, one liners, muscles, blood, guns, and slightly wooden acting. However, like other great 'wooden tops' for example, Hugh-shouldn't have gone with Divine-Grant, he has a certain charm about him. Of course there are some rare exceptions (which I hate to admit watching) Twins and Kindergarten Cop.
The film predator (no not named after a football boot) is a classic 80s violent action movie. It should look dated, but thanks to the remastered DVD it is as fresh as a fish from Grimsby docks! (Sorry had to quote where I come from... not the docks but... oh never mind!)

Advantages: Great family film Disadvantages: Not available to buy in this country
...was good and I have been told that it was very similar to the film 'It's a Wonderful Life' but again this is another film I have not seen so I cannot on the similarities.
The film did not have a very memorable soundtrack, but this was not a big issue as the acting and the story was involving enough to stop you loosing interest. The run time of 106 minutes was the right length as they did not try to drag the story out for a longer film as this would have spoilt it completely.
INFO
The film was made in 2002, it was produced by Laurence Marks and Directed by James Orr and Jim Cruickshank.
The film has a run time of 106 minutes. There is no certificate on my copy of the DVD (probably due to being a Dutch import) but I would say it is a good family film if you don't mind the odd swear word.
There are no extras on this DVD only...
