...WEW is a all female wrestling promotion, the group marries wrestling and softcore porn in some kind of hardcore harmony, but is this marriage the groups greatest success or failure. For starters,WEW has great production, the release starts with a series of promos from the girls that introduces their characters and the stories of the matches about to unfold. In fact, throughout the disc we see simple, cohesive storytelling - something that neither WWE nor TNA can't master at the moment. But the fact that the first bell comes some 32 minutes into the show is a problem; aside from the promos and the debut of former ECW star Francine as commissioner, this time is filled with the first of three entirely pointless softcore skits. ...The film is directed by Michael Mann, who produced the original TV shows and as such I think I was right to expect a little bit more of a nod to the shows. Direction was slick, cars and boats were fast but that was about as fun as it got. I am very fond of Jamie Foxx in a non homo erotic way his singing skills are second to none and his acting in "Jamie Foxx Show" was supreme so i expected to see better scripting for me. The film jumps straight into the action as Crockett (Colin Farrell) and Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) are in a nightclub trying to make a bust when Crockett gets a call from one of their informants who has been working with the FBI, and has had his cover blown. ...the drama of the show. The dvd which features the pilot and two parter episodes are both excellent.The pilot sees tubbs travelling to miami to track down Underworld kingpin Calderone.He teams up with miami detective crockett and a exciting game of cat and mouse occurs. The golden triangle episodes sees an old adversary of costillo return to miami which places the streets in danger.All three episodes are well directed and acted and show the series at the top of its game. The dvd sound and picture quality are very good and is a must for fans of the show... Read review
