...from the film on the dvd, let's talk about the dvd itself. The region 2 version is a 1 disc set. It contains the film, which has been lovingly restored. It is 118 minutes long, and has a few special features. They are: • Jules Verne & Walt Disney: 'Explorers of the Imagination' • Monsters of the Deep • The Humbolt Squid: 'A Real Sea Monster' • Tour of the Nautilus Excellent special features they are, as well. 'Explorers of the Imagination' is an interesting piece about Walt Disney and Jules Verne with famous modern day science fiction writers Samuel R. Delany and Gregory Benford and a few other notables offering their insight on both the original book and the Disney film adaption, discussing the men behind each and their visions. This bonus dvd accompanies the book of the same name and looks at saving species and asks the question do we face an extinction crisis. We also learn about how we can save certain species. xx--Bonus content--xx This bonus disk also looks at pollutiion, climate change and the growing human population -- all of which are putting pressure on to the natural wilderness. It delves into issues such as why previously uninhabited areas are paramount for our survival, as well as the survival of some of the worlds best known animal life. Advantages: Excellent movie and very good DVD extras

...though there is still some repetition). Filmed for the Sci-Fi channel it delves more into the personal feelings of the crews and cast focusing less on clips of the movie. -15 featurettes – these 5 to 10 minute snippets explore the cultures and locales of the movie. There are many (repeated) interviews with the cast interspersed with comments from Jackson and the artists. These are fun little featurretes. My particular favorites are when they explore the beginnings of the design of Hobbiton and when they look into the details of the Elven Languages. These add great background details to the filming of the movie and also give much information on the vision of Tolkien and how ‘exacting’ this transformation was when applied to the movie. -Enya "May It Be" music video – full length video of the haunting ‘May...
