Despite Scotland recording two victories previously to this game and Scotland being top of the group nobody gave them a chance against the stars of France. France who before this games had not lost a qualifying game in 14 years and had last month just comfortably beat the world champions.
These Scotland players walked on to the pitch as men and every single one of them walked of the pitch as national heros.
A game that Scotland were on the back foot for the majority was tense and nervous. France threw attack after attack at Scotland hoping (or expecting) that the resolute Scotland defence would eventully crumble under the French attack. Scotland did ride their luck...

...Billy Connolly has made 4 world tours in his time and this one may be the best of them all. This World tour of Scotland box set chronicles Billy's 40 date concert tour and his own appreciation of his home country through the eyes of this country's best comedian.
Billy takes us all through his favourite parts of his home country showing us all the hidden gems of the historic country. We see the urban hustle and bustle of major cites such as Glasgow and Edinburgh. He also shows us the extraordinary beauty of Scotland and its highlands. Plus as he travels the length and breadth of his native country he re-visits old places and discovers new ones. I think this part of his tour may bore people and they might just want the comedy but I think if those people really listen and watch what's happening they will learn about the beauty...

Those born and raised in Scotland will have no trouble recalling funny man Rikki Fulton and the many guises he adopted in his comedy sketch shows. For the rest of the world, I should perhaps introduce him by saying that for many years from the 1970s through until his death in 2004, Rikki Fulton was a much-loved Scots comic who was best known for his show "Scotch and Wry" and for his appearances on TV every hogmanay. Through his sketches he created numerous characters such as a hilariously inept police motorcycle outrider, but he is perhaps best known for his character, The Reverend IM Jolly, who is the main star of this particular DVD offering.
